DR JRand - to answer your question from last night, yes, it did rain in the CHCA production.  And the more I thought about it yesterday, I convinced myself that Rob's friend played the director!

Well... One more thing before I de-grumpify....

We're all adults on this site?  Aren't we?  This ain't high school folks.  We're not going to "die" by finding out who won a televised competition... that finished taping weeks before it aired.

*Heck, I knew the winner of the "Legally Blonde" show for WEEKS!  But I still had a great time watching how things were portrayed and edited for the TV show.  I still had some "Omigod!" moments.  ;)

OY!

Did this really all have to come up again?!?!?!?

So... Maybe the whole solution to the whole SPOILER ALERT situation is to just not discuss those shows, programs, movies, etc., on this site.  Just take those discussions to sites exclusively devoted to talking about those shows.

Would that work for everybody?

*And, yes, I find this whole discussion stupid and frustrating.  We all know that we live in different time zones and different countries.  Just deal with it.  Reading and posting on this forum should be fun.  Not work.

All i wrote was one line! :)

I personally don't think it takes much effort to write the name of the show before you post about it.

I don't think it is too much to ask not to post the names of the winners or eliminated contestants that week right out in the open.

And i don't think the right answer is not to post about the shows. I think most people here enjoy it. And in fact pretty much everybody here is very considerate each week when discussing the reality shows.

The ironic thing is that the post in question was not even discussing the show at all.

I just came back from lunch and the money that I didn't spend on food I spent on CDs, and more! A new place opened on 14th St. and 5th Avenue called Pita Joe. It's the first day of business and employees are standing on the corner handing out promotional cards. According to the card you get a free lemonade with your lunch. It's a new place so I thought I would try it out. I had the basic falafel (Joe in a Pocket) with hummus and tahini and I got a Raspberry Lemonade (isn't that an oxymoron) I got to the counter and not only was the RL free, the sandwich was also. It was quite tasty and I'm not saying that because it was free. I then went home, listened to the message on the answering machine and found out that Summer Stock will be playing at Chelsea Classics on Thursday evening! Even though it will be a DVD I will hie myself over there. I've never seen SS on the big screen (we've watched it on the telly) and since Anthony is out of town I feel I must make the pilgramage in his honor (Anthony is a JG fan btw). Then I went to Academy. That was my mistake. In the window they had the box set of The Complete Flanders and Swann! For $29! 3 CDs, At the Drop of a Hat, At the Drop of Another Hat and The Bestiary of Flanders and Swann. So, as I said, the money I saved on lunch was more than used at Academy. Now I won't have to transfer our F&S records. Damn You Academy  ;D

So...  Then there was no need to post in LARGER TYPE THE OTHER SHOWS YOU DID NOT WANT SPOILED.  We can all read "size 2" just fine.

It was one slip regarding "The Next Food Network Star".

Let. It. Go.

We all should just Let. It. Go.

I have a comment re: the name thing.

I personally don't care if BK or anyone posts a lot of names. My only qualm is that they wait until others have had a chance to post.

Sometimes i might not log on here till monday at noon (eastern). And by then most of the names are gone.

DR Ben - Good to know that Pita Joe finally opened.  I've been walking by the in-process storefront for the past couple of weeks.  Hmm... Falafel!

Sorry i didn't post it bigger to make it seem annoying.

Sometimes i just adjust the size 2 manually because i find it sticks out better.

...It's just about being considerate. Why would you want to just blurt out someone's name when you know that it will spoil it for someone else? It's beyond me i guess.
No, Jennifer, you just don't get it.  You're assuming that every time anyone posts, they should be thinking about you, and whether or not the post might spoil something for you.

The one who is being inconsiderate is you.  You are putting your needs above everyone else.

I do not live in Canada.  I have no reason to keep track of when whatever shows are being broadcast in Canada, as opposed to when they have broadcast in the USA.  And I seriously doubt that anyone else here keeps Canadian broadcast schedules in mind when they post.  McCargo won the competition two weeks ago.  This is old news.  To treat is as anything but old news is absurd.

No Westerns here, except maybe "Annie, Get Your Gun".

Good Matthew. I forgot that one.

As Anthony says, You know you're Gay if your favorite Westerns are The Harvey Girls and Annie Get Your Gun. You know you're Gay if everything you know about football you learned from Good News.

OH!

DR Ginny - When are you in NYC again? 'Cause I think I've come up with a plan for my birthday...

I think I'm just going to another sort of Walking and Eating Tour.  I basically did it last year on my birthday by myself - which is what I wanted to do anyway.

I had toyed with having some sort of party on the weekend before and/or after my birthday, but I've never been fond of celebrating birthdays on a non-birthday day, so...

What I'm pretty sure I'm going to do is to plan some sort of itinerary for the day.  I'll send it out to my friends, post it on Facebook, etc.  Then throughout the day, my friends can join me as their schedule and location permits.  -I've never been one for big parties, and this will be a nice way to make sure any of my friends who may be in rehearsals, shows, work, etc., can have an opportunity to meet up with me during the course of the day.  -And it will make it much easier to make sure I get some actual one-on-one time with everyone.  So.. Stay tuned.

LOL - well, I actually played football in high school.  Didn't know about Good News until I was in my 30's.  Everything in life came late to me, go figure.

When the Sun in confident Leo opposes spiritual Neptune on August 15, it's important to balance your own needs with others. The August 16 lunar eclipse in group-minded Aquarius underscores this theme! Keep you eyes and ears open toward the end of the week as warrior Mars squares intense Pluto. Communing with your spirituality is wonderful, but when you're challenged to stand up for yourself, make sure you know how to do that in a positive way!

If you know that someone on this site watched top chef/next food network star/or project runway. And they TELL you the show is delayed by 2 months then why would it hurt not to blurt out the winner's name? That is what i don't get. I"m not asking you not to discuss it. And i'm not asking you to memorize the canadian schedule. I"m just asking you to be respectful.

In fact i did not even know the winner's last name. So i would not have known.

I don't think the world revolves around me. But i find your attitude extremely disappointing.  I really would do anything to be considerate to anyone on this site, no matter who they are.

I had fun! I had a free lunch and got a box set of Flanders and Swann. My husband may be in Wisconsin but I still know how to make myself happy (I guess that might be a euphemism  ;))

DR Jose - we arrive two weeks from tomorrow (but who's counting?), Aug. 27, in the afternoon.

Your birthday plans sounds like fun and very "you."  I'll be interested to see how it develops.

One last thing before i go.

This site is supposed to be about family and about consideration, love and respect.  And truthfully right now it feels hostile. I am not one who would leave this site over pettiness.

But i feel like some of you might just post the winner of top chef or the latest contestant eliminated from project runway out of spite.  My intention before was not to be mean, but just to point something out. I've found the responses quite mean.

Another picture to bring the sun out in your day...the lovely Rory Calhoun.

Ssshhhh...one of my actress interviewees admitted to me that she had a little affair with Rory while they were filming a western...
