GEORGE,
Re: the lost parking ticket. That happened to me once, too. They are very easy to lose. My car has a little thingy near the radio/CD player that I think was intended for a pen, but it works perfectly for holding my parking ticket while I'm in the car. That works out well for me. I did eventually find the lost parking ticket; it was under the driver's seat--and I had looked there, too! When I drop things in the car they usually fall between the consol and the driver's seat; I know that know from experience! I also have a secure spot in my purse for such items. Again, not foolproof, but a help.

I know I should've left the ticket in the car.  What was I thinking??  And as as I drove past the gate (after paying the darned $26), I saw what could only have been my ticket, right there on the ground. :P

Just heard the news that my beloved Engineer Bill passed away at 97.  He was one of the three subjects of my 1985 documentary, Weekday Heroes, about the kiddie show hosts of 1950s LA.   I wonder if Chucko and Sheriff John are still alive?

Volley ball - which I tried to watch last night - late - seems to be pretty boring to me.  Why is THIS an Olympic event?  I appreciate the work and skill - but it doesn't seem worthy somehow.  But then again, I haven't played it in MANY years.

The late Mr. Gaussman was the inventor of Farty Pants and held several other patents.

Sitting all day on a Farty Pants Odor Eater?

You no longer have to endure a pain in your bum!

Get the new "Chafe Stick", designed to soothe the chafing, bicycle-seat effect you get when wearing Farty Pants all day.

I hadn't heard that your back yard was expecting.  How is the patient and are the trees cute?  Was the father there as well?

The day has progressed and I breathe deeply and realize that unless the run-in person has work-related business with me I have decided I do not need to speak to, or interact with, that person in any way. It's the best way to move on (a Sondheim reference or a Sunday in the Park with George reference, whichever you prefer)

Back from the long jog on the new route.  The first half-mile was difficult, the next three miles was fine, and then the last half-mile was excruciating.

Now I'm drinking a bottle of water.  Did you know that since I wrote about Safeway sparkling flavored water and my favorite being cherry, that Von's is now always out of cherry, and always low on the other flavors.  Ah, the power of haineshisway.com

What a strange morning.

I've been scheduling a meeting for next week...or attempting to...and it involves so many people I have to do a spread sheet just to track who's available when, how to contact them, what their preferred dates are and what fall-back dates are acceptable.

These are the County people.  Then there's the landlord without whom the meeting cannot be held, and I can only "wait" and "wait" and "wait" to hear back from him and hope that everyone keeps all the "availabilities" they offered to me yesterday and this moring open long enough to get it all together.

Greetings from Ohare. I tried to make an earlier flight, but it was too full to get on with a standby ticket, so I have another 2 hours to kill beforbny plane leaves.
