Dakota Celt wrote on my Facebook wall - she said she hoped the board would be fixed someday.  I suggested that she might try reading THE NOTES for a change.

She  probably wrote this when everything seemed incommunicado.

So far away

Doesn't anybody stay in one place

Any more

It would be so fine to see your face

at my door

and it doesn't help to know

that you're just time away...

On TV Tonight:

And for us Sc-Fi-iacs there is the 2hr Pilot of the new series SANCTUARY!

The preview of this, with Amanda Tapping affecting a bad English accent, has put me right off watching.

I've seen the previews and never realized she was speaking with an "English accent"  ;D

Nope, she wrote it today.  She simply tried coming to the old board and had no idea of what's been going on because she doesn't read the notes.

We received a beautiful post card from DR Tomovoz & DP Colin.

All is well in the beautiful country they are traveling through.  They are discovering beautiful villages & spectacular scenery and the people are friendly.

I’m to send a hello to Bruce and all dear readers at HHW.

Not exactly the postcard, but close.

I often begin with the discussions, catch up & then read the notes.  She may not have received your email regarding the situation, seen on Facebook the site was down & stopped looking.

Last night my Pops Choir surprised me with a big brownie cake and cookies for my upcoming celebration of not being quite dead yet on Monday.  It was very nice as DS Betsy is in Reno and thus will not be able to provide me with the standard chocolate cake that many of you have sampled whilst at our semi-lovely home, at least on my natal day.

JMK, what has become of JulieC40 and her her sister PDXJane?  One trip to New York and they left us?

Julie has been at Pops rehearsals.  Not sure why she's not posting.

Benjamin is no longer.

He went the way of 19,949 other accounts only I did it myself.   8)

Since Mark cleaned out the Member List we now have 309 members (as of this evening). When I looked yesterday we had 20,258 and now we have 309. All the porn names are gone along with the jibberish names and other detrius. 162 people have made at least one post. 147 people are registered but have never posted. Our membership should not increase so quickly anymore since we have the capture box which requires an entry to verify you are a human being registering and not just a bot filling out the form.

It's time for a walk to the NYPL and some play in the Bert Lahr collection.

I am sure you are not the first man to say that!

TOD:
DVD:
VERTIGO, which I mentioned late last night.  Great, truly rich film.
AAMIR  - which arrived today from Netflix and I can't wait to watch!  (DR MBarnum mentioned it a while back).
Nothing hand-made this week.  :(

CD:
MAMMA MIA! - the alternate and unreleased soundtrack.
Karen Akers - Feels Like Home & Live from Rainbow & Stars.
Jason Danieley and The Frontier Heroes.
Jennifer Hudson.
BIG RIVER - original Australian Cast

BOOKS:
James Ellroy - THE BIG NOWHERE; I don't know how this slipped passed me, it's been on my shelf for ages.
James Rollins - THE BLACK ORDER.  Another winner.

Good Evening!

I'm all caught up on the posts, and now it's time to remember which posts I need and want to respond to.  Alas, it appears that opening a reply in a "tabbed" window is not possible with the new board/software.

TOD: Nothing, but I did sit outside for a while and watched butterflies, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, finches, and dragonflies fly around the yard.

Thanks for the good news regarding the excessive membership.  I'm very happy to hear this problem shouldn't happen again.

DR JMK - You mentioned that the Quick Reply "error" was an MSN thing, but then you said that it worked fine in IE.  Does that mean that MSN doesn't use IE - which is a Microsoft product - as it's built-in browser? ???

They say that the heat wave is over.  It was only about eighty in the Valley today.  Tomorrow they say some drizzles - we shall see.  I might have some prosciutto and melon this evening.
