Vixmom, did the vixter finish the book YET?

I will ask her but I suspect not, she leaves for school at 6:45 AM and gets home after soccer practice and or games around 6 PM, then showers, eats and does homework

Soccer season is over ina couple of weeks and that should free her up a bit to read for pleasure again

Glad I rushed to get the book here :)  Well, I hope she'll get around to it, since she wanted to read it so badly.  Kids today.

Listening to a fantastic bossa nova import from Japan of Os Gatos - full orchestra, classic bossa tunes - I'd heard this group on a couple of my compilation CDs but couldn't find any releases until this one reared its beautiful head.

You know this is a Deodato arranged group, don't you?

Dori Caymmi, whom I've mentioned here repeatedly recently, produced.

She was desperate to have it for the plane ride to Canada when she had lots of time to read it, unfortunately it didn't  arrive until the day we got back, the same day as scoccer began

Since she goes to bed aroud 9 (she's exhausted by then ) she really has no free time between school, soccer andher other obligations -after soccer her load will lighten up and she'll get it read

I know she loved the first few chapters she was able to read before the heay duty homework kicked in

Well I have to get up in 6 hours and drive 8 miles to wait in a large room with a bunch of stranger until it's my turn to pay someone to stick a big needle in my arm and take out some of my blood

No, I think this was a one-off, but if you like this you should get Deodato's mid-60s group Os Catedraticos, and anything by Durval Ferrreira, the guitarist on this set.

On TV Tonight:

And for us Sc-Fi-iacs there is the 2hr Pilot of the new series SANCTUARY!

The preview of this, with Amanda Tapping affecting a bad English accent, has put me right off watching.

"Amanda Tapping was born in Rochford, Essex in England on August 28, 1965. She spent a short time in South Benfleet, Essex, and was relocated to Ontario, Canada, at the age of 3."

I don't know if her parents were from England, but her accent sounded fine to us.

I gotta tell you.  I've chosen the selections for tomorrow's reading.  I've gotten three e-mails today from people who were definitely coming who are now definitely NOT coming.  This could be a VERY small group tomorrow.  I'm sort of annoyed - I asked so many people about this date before I booked it.  They all said it was preferable to the September date, which I now wish I'd done.  And then, suddenly, everyone was going to be out of town or suddenly had something else to do.  This is not just me - it's happened to a bunch of other authors, several of whom are much more well known than I.  Oh, well, it will be what it will be - nothing to be done about it, except to know that I, too, will suddenly be busy when I'm invited to certain events.  :)

Well, I'm guessing the guests don't read the Notes either, and thus don't know about the new URL for the board.

That would be quite frustrating, indeed.  Sorry BK

OJ's looking at at least a minimum of 15 years on just the Kidnapping charge.  At his age and considering there are a total of 12 counts, looks to me like he'll be spending the rest of his life in prison, but he won't be sentenced until December

Darling Jose, we've had plenty of GUESTS since switching over to the new board - I've commented on the number several times.  And despite the little snarkism, I can tell you that more people read the notes than ever come to this board - I have the stats, you see, and I can only tell you, for whatever reason, the notes are read by a LOT of folks every single day.  My comment above was based on the fact that Bakalor, for a short time today, disabled everyone who wasn't signed in from reading the board - we fixed that pronto.
