Cilla, I did hear that the new Titanic book was due, and I saw it the other day at Costco, but it is a bit out of my budget, so I will put a hold in at Jed's library.

I'll be curious to see what you think of the new theory and the book as a whole. I thought it was very good.

If there is anything new & interesting about my great uncle, by marriage, Captain Smith?

It certainly doesn't blame him for what happened. I think there was a chapter about him.  I'll have to look. I don't think there was anything new about him though

...And we're moving...

And I've decided to take out my laptop... And see just how much of the battery life I can drain from it.  However, "they" do suggest running the battery "amost-out" every now and then to help improve and properly recalibrate it.

Thankfully, this Bolt Bus is not sold out tonight, so I have an extra and open seat next to me.

Steve is currently at the IKEA at Potomac Mills making a few more purchases for his home environment.  -Which is a good thing, since I was worried that with the Friday afternoon rush hour traffic, he might have still been sitting somewhere on 95S even an hour after he dropped me off at the Metro station.

I've made the appropriate calls: Mom & Dad, brother Jay, brother Mike, and everyone is OK.  -Although, my parents only had one trick-or-treater.  They actually seemed surprised by that, but then once I reminded them that they're living in a "55 and older" community, well...  Maybe once the rest of the units fill up in their subdivision next year, the word will get out that there are a lot of grandfathers and grandmothers with lots of candy in that 'hood.  ;)

Thanks for posting the link to those beautiful autumn photos, DR Jose. They are gorgeous!

You're welcome DR Laura.

*I have to say, these past few days back in Richmond just ended up reminding me why I fell in love with that City, and just how much I miss it from time to time.

I would rather be chained on the top of Mount Olympus while having my eyes pecked out by crows than sit through even the overture to Happy Days! The Musical.

At least you didn't have to play the auditions for it.  ;)

So, I bought a ticket for the 7:30 Bolt Bus back to NYC. What happens between now and then is TBA/TBD.  ;)

...And I'm glad I didn't have a ticket for the 7:00 MegaBus that left right before us.  Apparently, they were oversold, and a few would-be-could-be passengers ended up flipping a coin - literally - to see who would get the remaining two seats on that bus.

If a bus is oversold, do they offer freebies like the airlines do?

I'm still at work and I plan to stay here until it's way past the time when the kids still trick-or-treat.

Ah, 2 more...these were the two I was waiting for.  And I only have 5 little candy bars left...so maybe I'll run out of candy. That would be nice

I'm watching Myles of Styles. Has she ever done a room without painting the walls orange/pumpkin or something similar?

I was seriously thinking about dressing up at work today (we had a Halloween costume contest and snack break) in the dress that was built for me for Cannibal! The Musical! (which I still have ;)), but I don't have a wig and didn't think that a turban-like hat would work.  See below...that's me in the middle:

Jane, I am sorry to have to be the one to tell you this, but I am afraid your great uncle, by marriage, is dead.

As for the Friday Media Check....

CDs via iTunes/iPod/iPhone:
Marc Broussard - "Keep Coming Back"

Emil Gilels - I'm still working my way through his (incomplete) Beethoven Piano Sonata Cycle/Box.  Some truly amazing and inspring playing and interpretations.

Elians Elias - "Something for You: Eliane Elias Plays & Sings Bill Evans"

Girl Talk - "Feed the Animals" - There was a feature on NPR about this "Mash Up" artist on NPR earlier this week, and since the album is available as a free(?) download from illegalart.net (legally), well...  Yes, some of the rap lyrics get quite "adult" from time to time, but some of the "mash ups" - are quite clever.  The sampling, resampling and "reconfiguring" of classic and not-so-classic pop/rock tunes is quite skillfully handled.  -Who knew that a Roy Orbison tune could provide such a great "background"?  ;)  -And that's on one of the "clean" tracks.

Bernstein's "Mass" - Original (cast) recording.  *And a little birdie told me that they actually recorded the recent series of performances by the Baltimore Symphony and company for a possible commercial release on the BSO's own internet label.
