I am trying to figure out the name of a war movie I saw when I was a child. No, Larry, it was a talkie. I believe it was a British film made in the late 50's early 60's. A World War II naval battle movie, but told more from a German standpoint, rather than an Allied treatment. It involves this German battlship or whatever, that manages to sink a large number of Allied ships, but the Captain always goes in and rescues the crew members from the water. At the end of the movie, the Allies show the captain no such kindness as they blast the ship to pieces.
Any ideas? I thought it might be THE BATTLE OF RIVER PLATE, but it doesn't seem to have been told from the German perspective.
