Palin didn't have a chance. The attacks on her were outrageous and most an outright lie. It just shows that this country is still incredibly sexist.

A co-worker of mine insists that no one who voted for Obama could possibly have also voted for Proposition 8 in California, or for the equivalent Proposition 2 in Florida.

Let's see...

In California, Obama recieved 61 percent of the votes. The yea votes for Proposition 8 are tallying at 52 percent.

In Florida, Obama got 51 percent of the votes. The yeas on Proposition 2 came to 62 percent of the total.

Yep, she's right, there's absolutly no overlap in either case.

I don't agree with that at all. The attacks began before anyone knew anything about her. The things that were said about her and done to her and her family were the most disgusting uncalled for display I've ever seen

Cilla I have other reasons why I did not support McCain and one was his support of CAFTA which would have destoryed the sugar industry up here.

And now, for something completely different...

Dinner tonight (since it is wet and damp and rainy outside) will be leek and potato and carrot soup. It was going to be just leek and potato, but I had some leftover carrots, and Julia won't mind.

On the side, for a little protein, we will have some sausages. Charcuterie seems so right with a French soup.

Cilla, I was very unhappy about things that were done to Palin, that I too felt were unjust & will admit they began even before her interview with Katie Couric.

I think this is an interesting discussion on sexism, but since it involves politics & sexism, maybe I'll stop now. I'll email you.

I didn't find that funny. And I didn't care for either candidate being hung in effigy. (not that anyone was laughing at that)

I didn't think it was funny, either. I thought it was mind-bogglingly scary that a woman who might ultimately be President could be that completely clueless.

Instead I had a nice hike this morning, before it rained. In the afternoon I had a nice lunch out with friends & then accomplished multiple errands.
