DR Ron Pulliam - So... Does this mean that something that you eat at lunch today will not be agreeing with you, and that you'll have to head home early in order to get better?  -And eat some Rum Cake too, of course.  -Which I'm guessing would make you feel better.

I don't think that DR RLP would want to miss the nacho fest.

DR DER BRUCER - Thanks(?) for posting that LA Times' review of Billy Elliot.  I was actually expecting Brantley to have a similar reaction.  However, the reactions to the show, in general, seem to be in both camps.  That fine, fine line between treacly sentiment and true emotional depth seems to be in evidence here.  -Or something like that.

Where did you find it?

And while we're at it, does anyone know where one could find the Beverly Sills recording of Victor Herbert songs?

the Silent Auction!

Apparently, his co-workers are willing to ante up quite a bit of cash to make sure that DR RLP remains silent!

There is stuff in that Silent Auction that I seem to "regret" having donated.  I could bid on it, I suppose.   But I've got no place to put any of it.  More stuff has filed the space my donations opened up.

DR RLP, what happens to the money raised if the party effort does not come to fruition?

It rolls over to be augmented by next year's fundraising.

The one that was issued very early in the days of the CD?  With Andre Kostelanetz?  Hmm... Lemme check my shelves, boxes, etc...

*Although, there is talk of a new Sills Box Set coming out next year to coincide with and commemorate what would have been her 80th birthday.

**And I really do wonder what she would think about City Opera's current state of affairs.  What a truly unfortunate situation and set of circumstances they are in right now.

I dropped off one of our professional singers at the Stamford CT train station last night on my way home from choir rehearsal.

He told me this morning that he encountered a 7 foot tall drag queen, lurching about in the main atrium.  People were definitely staying out of his/her way!!
