Good morning, all! I have two more cartons I would like to pack today and I need to move the packed ones off to a corner and out of my way. That first requires some other maneuvering. After that I've got the string parts to work on for MHF, and a wait for the post: my property settlement check should arrive today. Since that's what's paying for this Ohio shipment, I need it to arrive today.

I have my walk after that, and I believe that's my day.

DR Danise, are you recovered from your Northern trek?

Perhaps this is the official end - if there ever is one - to your mourning and a return to life. I find some days a song, an image, a thought, or something even vaguer can grab my heart so painfully that it's difficult to function.

No. Not until the day before the Fed Ex pick up date. I'm hoping that this will occur no later than Wednesday of this week. The greatest time involved after packing the cartons is sealing them with lots of packing tape, printing out the labels for Ground Service Fed Ex and attaching them to each carton and then marking the carton as well with the address in case something happens to the label. I may need to buy some more storage cartons, depending on how enthusiastic I get over this shipment.

The traumatic part was packing up every musical, opera, and operetta libretto; it was like losing a really good friend!

My postman just called since I had asked him about the certified mail yesterday. He has the check!

Saturday greetings to all.

Reading yesterday's posts was very special. We are an amazing group.

I'm about to head out into the rain to an event called ActorFest. It's sponsored by Back Stage and takes place once a year. They have seminars (for which you pay) and a free hall full of photographers, acting teachers, dance teachers, etc. who promote their wares. Anthony is helping his dance teacher by manning her booth and trying to talk actors who are scared of dance to try out her class. I'm dropping by to say hello to them.

Tomorrow I have a great day planned with Larry. We will go to heaven, or at least Princeton, NJ, to wander the aisles of a large record/CD store. I'm very excited.

And now, out into the rain (with my trusty LL Bean Rain Boots and a large umbrella).

Good morning!

Boy, it was BALMY outside this morning. 60 degrees at 8 a.m! Of course, a cold front is coming through, and it'll be close to freezing tomorrow morning, but I could NOT believe how warm and pleasant it was outside. No wonder my heat never clicked on during the night. It didn't need to. That may also account for why I slept so soundly. It was the best night's sleep I've had this week.

Memorable guest star appearances:

William Shatner played a schizophrenic on an episode of THE FUGITIVE that was astounding. It was the first time I ever saw him in anything (didn't catch up to JUDGMENT AT NUREMBERG until later), and that combination of looks and vulnerability was captivating.

In comedy, I remember in particular an episode of THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW. Rob is the foreman of a jury. On trial is the delightfully bubble-headed Sue Ann Langdon. Once they get in the jury room to deliberate, Herbie Faye and Patsy Kelly are there to harrass "Rob," and they're screamingly funny.

THE DICK VAN DYKE had some fabulous guests during its five years on the air (Lola Albright, Billy De Wolfe, Roald Dahl come immediately to mind), but just remembering that episode can still make me burst into laughter.

And speaking of William Shatner, I'll be working on STAR TREK - Season Three all weekend. Shows of this vintage have episodes that come very close to BEING an hour in length, so it takes much longer to get through a box set of those shows than it does to get through a set of, say, NCIS today. Each episode then is about 10 minutes longer than episodes today meaning that a typical box set adds about 240 minutes to the viewing time.

Speaking of pets, are there any cat people among us? Maybe a cat psychiatrist?

If so, have you ever had a situation like this?

I have this weird female cat, "Annie". She's around 13 years old and has always had a sweet personality.

About 6-7 months ago, we had to put her life-long companion to sleep. Cancer and kidney failure.

Since then, Annie's personality has changed. She has become much more demanding.

In fact, if you ignore her, she "hits" you. She's done this to me and to our dog, who she's lived with all of her life.

Other times, she can be very cuddly.

Do I now have a cat version of Dr, Jekyll and Mr. Hyde?
