Had my brief eleven-thirty meeting, which was brief.  I then did a couple of errands and got some lunch from Gelson's.  I sent a bunch of e-mails and AOL just did something so weird I couldn't believe it.  I tried to send an e-mail response and got a pop up window saying I had to do some sort of "challenge" thing by following a URL, which was not clickable - I cut and pasted it and went and filled in the numbers and letters I saw on my screen and that was that and all is well, but how stupid is AOL?

That's nice, bk.  I'll bet there are a lot of directors of that type of event who don't.

At his very moment I am listening to the soundtrack to the 1962 Bollywood film MADAME ZORRO.

I just filled out my out of office reply in Outlook:

"I will be away from the office beginning Monday, 12/08, through Friday, 01/02/2009.  I will be returning on Monday, 01/05/2009.

Have a Happy Holiday!"

Enjoy your nice long break!

Forry had an incredible run.  The first Ackermansion was two blocks from my house, on my street (Sherbourne Drive) - I visited several times, probably in the late 1950s.  He was a great and unique guy.

Re Vanities - it is vanity to tell untruths in press releases.  They're not being considerate of their investors - they LOST at least one and probably more of their investors - that's the truth.   Frankly, I never believed they were coming in or that they had the money - but the ego of producers these days, the hunger to say you're coming in, is, I suppose, just too great.  I said this to a few people back when it was announced and they said I really didn't know what I was talking about - except that I did - obviously.  Those people, of course, didn't know what THEY were talking about, but like all of those types, they disappear without an apology or even an acknowledgment that they were the ones who were wrong.

OK - That worked... There stills seems to be something weird with the internet connection here at my apartment.  I've lost track of how many times I've had to reset the system here over the past 45 minutes or so.  Hmmm...

Hmm... Are you sure that that wasn't some sort of "phishing virus"?  -I know that Facebook has started asking for "identifications" when posting URLs, but I didn't realize AOL was doing it now too.  -Just to be safe, I'd check any account that is connected to your AOL account.

I didn't realize that the "Beard" to which the article refers, was a specific person's name. ;)
