DR TCB - Equus is a "Limited Engagement".  It closes February 8, 2009, and Daniel Radcliffe and Richard Griffiths will be in it for the duration.

DR Ron Pulliam, do you remember that DVD of LIFE ON MARS you were kind enough to send me on Nov 22? Well, it finally arrived in today's mail! I had been wondering what had happened to it.

DR tomovoz, thank you for the beautiful calendar!

I wondered, recently, if you'd gotten it and figured I may have missed a comment about it.

What was the postage on it???? I know I told the USPS clerk to mail it 1st Class Postage.  It should have gotten there before the next episode of "Life on Mars" aired (or, at least, the night it would have aired).

I'm glad you have it.  You can still see it before the "next" episode airs.

What a trip.

I think it probably went all over the USA on a $1.51 stamp! I think it got put into the wrong bin and was passed from pillar to post before landing in New York.  The DVD is in fine shape although it looks as if something with cleats ran over the envelope at least once. The address is very clear and it's postmarked Nov 22. It's a PO snafu!

HI EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alright, I've logged on for Vixmom, and she'd like to say four things

1) HI.(That's from me too.)
2) HAPPY B-DAY BRUCE!!!!!!!!!!(Also from me.)
3) She's gotten back from the stomuch-tube-thing operation, and is fine, but would like some food that she can't have.(She's probably gonna kill me for making that bacon earlier...)
4) She is beginnig chemo tomorrow.

So thanks for reading the update, love and miss you all, and we hope to see you soon.

Now, go, go and wish Bruce a Happy Birthday. And Bruce, I wish you a long life, a happy day, and the ability not to regret eating any cake today.

And I read the book Bruce. It made my soul smile. IT. WAS. AWSOME. WRITE MORE NOVELS.

Just in case if I don't come on again tonight, I'll just say, Good Night!!!!!!!!!!!

The Smoke House brings back memories...

Specifically of the scandalously orange cheese bread...

And proper Shirley Temples, made with grenedine (not with the syrup from the cherry jar that stored the garnish for so many other drinks, that would be cheating)...

And Grampa flirting with the waitress while Grandma sat next to him, shaking her head and quietly chuckling.

derBrucer used to take you to the Smoke house?
Actually, yes, once.  But when we went, I had a very nice Manhattan (with cherry).  I haven't had a Shirley Temple in decades.

"Shirley Temple"?  That's not a euphemism, is it?    :)

Our gala Annual Holiday Potluck was well-attended, splendily provisioned and a soul-stuffing experience.  "Soul" in this context IS a euphemism.

I may not eat for two more days.  Sad, that, because tomorrow at noon is my division's annual holiday luncheon.

I have just enough green beans and just enough sweet potato souffle left over to make two more meals.

There was also some coconut custard pie left over (most of one, actually).  With so many desserts provided, I feel great that one whole pie was consumed and part of the other.  Now, I've had my coconut custard fix for the year.

POSSIBLY GROSS, SO READ WITH CARE!

My doctor discovered that I actually had four MRSA lesions this time, all of them under my arm.  And naturally all of them had to be lanced and drained.  I thought at first that the doctor and his nurse were playing a game of tic tac toe on my armpit, but they promised that they weren't.  The numbing agent has now worn off, and I hurt like Heck.

Oh, and I told my doctor that his partner is a QUACK!

OUCH! :( I hope they heal quickly now that they have all been lanced.

Did your doctor have a response regarding your QUACK comment?

He didn't say anything.  But, you know, it is beginning to feel like he might have carved the other doctor's name in my armpit.

And I'm certain the original Shirley Temple liked them that way, too!

I'm very very glad I closed the office early this afternoon.  About 2:30 Edith's boyfriend called us to say that the roads were starting to get slick.  It was a slow afternoon, so I said "Let's just close the office and go home"   By the time I got home, it was freezing rain and my car was covered with ice.  I saw one car accident on the way home and I'm sure there were more later.  It's snowing now, but there is a layer of ice under it.   We're going to get 2-5 inches here...well that's the forecast. Anyway, I'm glad we called it a day so neither one of us was out in the slick stuff

I wonder if DRs Jane and Ginny and others came across this...

Fought Over Any Good Books Lately?

My book group has an excellent method of choosing the book, whoever hosts picks.  We also encourage new members to come for at least one meeting before deciding.  We also give them a complete list of all the books we have read.  Variety is important to us.

Tomorrow’s discussion is “Founding Brothers: The Revolutionary Generation”  I must admit I’m having trouble with it.  This is not a book to read when overly sleepy & suffering from a headache.  Yesterday my head finally felt better & reading it was much easier.  This reminds me, I have one more LONG chapter to read.

DR Cilla, Edith has a very thoughtful boyfriend.

With your work do you ever use a webcam to communicate with clients?

Does anyone use a webcam for work or pleasure?
