Of course, there's no mention of Claudine Longet by name throughout this show, though she is shown occasionally.  Sort of sad.

Is she carrying a gun?

Remember the sketch on Saturday Night Live about the Claudine Longet Ski Open?

I remember laughing hysterically at it.

I spent much of the evening with GHOST TOWN. A promising premise (kind of a combination TOPPER/GHOST WHISPERER), an attractive cast, gorgeous NYC locations, and it just didn't quite come together though it certainly has its moments. I really wanted to like it a lot more than I did. It's no HOT FUZZ.

I thought of DR MBarnum when Brian D'Arcy James appeared on the screen as Irish Eddie. A little throwaway part, sad to say, but he looked sexy as all get-out. Even Billy Campbell, billed much higher, is given little to do.

I also listened to a good portion of the commentary though the director and star didn't get around to talking all that much about individual scenes. Still, they laugh a lot and it was a pleasant listen.

I had watched the rest of the bonus features this afternoon, so I was done with the film by a little after 9 p.m.

A friend asked me if I was sitting by a fire in my fireplace a week or two ago. It then occurred to me that I have never had a fire in either of my fireplaces in this house (I did have the chimney inspected).  So tonight I got one of those 2 hour duraflame logs and now have a nice fire in the fireplace

Since THE DARK KNIGHT is more than two hours, and I wanted to watch it in one sitting, I decided to hold off until tomorrow when I will take another day off.

Instead, I skimmed through Friday's AS THE WORLD TURNS. No Luke and Brian, but they were featured in the previews for next week.

I also channel surfed for about 20 minutes looking for something interesting to watch. I couldn't find a thing. All those channels and nothing was there that I wanted to watch.

So, I took my next Christimas=themed movie off the shelf to watch for seasonal enjoyment: SCROOGE (1970). Since I wanted to stop at 10 p.m. so I could write my review of GHOST TOWN, I only got the first half hour of the movie watched.

I will watch the rest of it tomorrow afternoon along with more HONEY WEST episodes. Then, in the evening I'll watch THE DARK KNIGHT on Blu-ray and the DEXTER season finale.

OK, evening surf concluded, so I'm heading downstairs now to go to bed.

Good night!

I still have to catch up, but here is what has been happening with me:

I went to be with my sister for two weeks after her surgery. I could not get my laptop to hook up to her cable (something to do with the IP address of the church printer conflicting with the cable). I did not want to visit the internet on her work computer.

She has a big fight ahead of her, but she should be ok by spring. She has two different cancers to fight.

When I was sure she was ok after her surgery and I would be able to return home, I flew to the LA area (actually inland quite a bit) and attended two days of meetings for District business. I returned home tonight.

Joshie has been all over me tonight.

Thank you all for sending vibes and prayers to my sister and my family. I told her that people she didn't even know all over the world were praying for her.

And the Little Orange Kitten greeted me when I got home. My DS said he thought he had a home for her, but I guess it fell through.

What?  No DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL?  That is the only holiday film that I am really eager to see.

Only if I want a really good laugh and/or nap.  In IMAX, of course.

Tonight's closing concert of Carnegie Hall's "Leonard Bernstein Festival" was quite wonderful.  A great selection of music, played and sung by some very talented musicians.  -It had been a while since I've heard "Prelude, Fugue and Riffs" live, and, man, did it SWING tonight!  I also loved Bernstein's two-piano arrangement of Copland's "El Salon Mexico" played by Jeremy Denk and Robert Spano.  Oh, and the second half was devoted to "Arias and Barcarolles" - sometimes known as "Arcs and Barks".  DR elmore's friend, Rod Gilfry, was in fine voice tonight as was Susan Graham.

*The one weird thing about tonight's program was that it was "Sold Out" - at least I thought it was Sold Out - but there were lots of empty seats in all sections of the hall.  ??? ???

Please remember, this is restaurant food, and a restaurant recipe.  It is billed as being luxurious.  That being said, while the grits were indeed creamy, they lacked punch.  Der B added more than a couple of grindings of pepper to his serving.

Cayenne usually does the trick and/or a few generous "drops" of Louisiana Hot Sauce and/or Tabasco.

I am glad to see Laura DR back.  I am back, also.

Many cookies were baked.  Perhaps tomorrow I will post some pictures.
