I received my copies of SCARLET and VAN HELSING'S JOURNAL.....MR BK, myself, and DR MBARNUM are among the contributors in one or the other or BOTH.

DR Matthew - so sorry to hear of your misfortune.  Although it sounds like it could have been worse.    :(

Ditto!  I know this guy (he's a music director and voice teacher) whose car was broken into many years ago and ALL of his music scores (selections and full scores) were stolen!  He kept them in his car because he would go to his students' houses for their lessons.  It was QUITE the expensive lesson that he learned. :-\

Well, that gave me the shivers.

The one time my car was broken in to, "they" took a tuxedo (which was a rental!?!? - OY!), and a duffel bag filled with my spare keyboard pedals and power supplies, as well as a stack of orchestra parts, which, thankfully, were xeroxes.  However, on the very dimly lit bright side, the duffel bag had been recently "marked" by a cat, and once something gets "marked", well, you know it.  The worst part of the whole deal was the shock of discovering that someone had done such a thing... and all that broken glass.

Yet to be arranged.

I just watched DOCTOR ATOMIC on PBS and enjoyed it very much, but was pretty much bored and irritated every time the good Doctor's wife or that Indian Woman stepped forward to sing some useless bit of drivel......the scenic elements were most intriguing....even on TELEVISION!!!

Well... If you feel like taking another chance on "Doctor Atomic", they also just recently released a video of the original production that was directed by Peter Sellars.  In some ways, it works better than the recent Met staging, as it "explains" some of the stretches of music where seemingly nothing happened on stage (at the Met).  There was a much larger dance element to the original production.

I was so taken aback by DR MBarnum's ability to invent words that I forgot to mention what a great time I had with Anthony and DR Ben this evening!

I will have you know that "picturized" is indeed a word DR Elmore. It is the word used to describe the Bollywood musical numbers. I think it is Hindi, or Sanskrit.

Google the word and you will see.

In Salem, Oregon, and particularly in my neighborhood, you never leave anything in your car...otherwise, within a few hours you will have nothing in your car.

Good night!

I had the passenger window broken out of my car once when I was parked along side the Mormon Temple in Mesa, AZ.  I was in the library doing geneology research and came out to find  broken glass.  There wasn't anything in the car to steal, so they just broke the window and left, but it still was frightening and a pain in the butt to take care of.

So sad about Jett Travolta.  He had a seizure and hit his head in the bathroom. They aren't sure of the exact cause of death

On a much lighter note:  This is fun!  Our AIG Lehman Parody Medley was #2 on a noted accounting professor's Top Videos relating to the "Bailout and Popular culture."

http://profalbrecht.wordpress.com/2009/01/01/bailout-and-popular-culture-2/

If you haven't seen it yet, you can view the video at Prof. Albrecht's blog site linked above.

Or  - if you like seeing the words while watching a video - you can see the newly-loaded version with the lyrics on-screen, which is here (Using the High Quality setting on youtube is recommended):

OH!

DR FJL - I stopped by Jim's office earlier tonight.  He says, "Hi!".  -James was not there, but I did meet Jack.  -I think everyone in that office is required to have a name that begins with "J". ;)

Listening to the newly released soundtrack to Auntie Mame (great sound) and Rome Adventure (great sound).  I wrote some more, and will finish chapter one (I'm on the final page) when I get back home after she of the Evil Eye is gone.

I am going to bed now having just recently consumed a steaming hot cup of Theraflu for severe colds.

Am still rather stuporized.
