Tomovoz is so kind -- helping the poor unfortunate widows in Africa. We should all be so thoughtful.

DR Matthew - so sorry to hear of your misfortune.  Although it sounds like it could have been worse.    :(

Ditto!  I know this guy (he's a music director and voice teacher) whose car was broken into many years ago and ALL of his music scores (selections and full scores) were stolen!  He kept them in his car because he would go to his students' houses for their lessons.  It was QUITE the expensive lesson that he learned. :-\

DR George, that is very sad.  Why would anyone steal the music, unless they were looking for it.

He assumed that whoever did it just wanted something that would sell quickly (for drugs, most likely) but was essentially untraceable.

I believe the best ever Scrooge performance also included segments of the Cane Mutiny - and it wasn't a sugar candy cane.  The DVD is available on ebay or at least somewhere in the Pacific North West.

Does anyone know what in the world this guy is talking about?

Starting today this is my new favorite song

And it certainly helps to have the song picturized with cute men.

I wonder if Scrooge with his cane is still able.

(It's an Austrian reference - I suspect it loses in translation).

Well, CDs arrived, and I got them all packaged and shipped.  The post office was a madhouse but happily I just took my stuff to the back and dropped it off.  I then shipped out the huge online dealer order at the UPS Store - also madness - apparently January 2 is THE day to ship packages.  They must have had three hundred of them stacked up there.

As a combined Christmas/Birthday present my sister-in-law send me a "Game" - TAOC - the art of conversation!  It consists of 300 topics.

I rarely see my my youngest brother and his wife so I don't think it was any sort of hint! (They live about four hours drive away). (I didn't grow up in the same family as my brothers)

I find it rather sad that such a game even exists!  Why would you have a group of friends together if they didn't have something to talk about anyway?

I've not opened the packs of topic cards.

The topics I can see are:
1. Who taught you to drive and were you happy with their approach. (Maybe that's a golf question)
2. Can you remember the first song you learnt.  Yes or no would seem to be the appropriate answers
3. What would you do if you were sure to get away with it?

How do you play the game?  Is it just a conversation question or are there rules to go with it and a winner?

Supposedly no winners!  There are rules - mostly based on time to give an answer or opinion or to ask players to elaborate etc.

Facebook ads inform me that I can win $5,000.00 worth of laser hair removal treatments.

I think I'd rather win the guy in their ads:

Of course, then we'd have to feed and clothe him, I suppose.

That seems rather lame, as games go.  If you are in a group where one person dominates the conversation it might be useful as a way to give everyone a chance to talk.  LOL-I am no way inferring that you talk too much.

Well, I hate to do it, but I must leave.  I'm ushering for a show downtown at Harlequin Productions' State Theatre...the latest in their annual "Stardust" shows.  According to their on-line volunteer calendar, there are only five, count 'em FIVE people signed up to usher tonight!  They ususally at least eight!! :o I hope other people show up and they just didn't get listed on-line. :-\
