DR Matthew - so sorry to hear of your misfortune. Although it sounds like it could have been worse.
Ditto! I know this guy (he's a music director and voice teacher) whose car was broken into many years ago and ALL of his music scores (selections and full scores) were stolen! He kept them in his car because he would go to his students' houses for their lessons. It was QUITE the expensive lesson that he learned.
Well, that gave me the shivers.
The one time my car was broken in to, "they" took a tuxedo (which was a rental!?!? - OY!), and a duffel bag filled with my spare keyboard pedals and power supplies, as well as a stack of orchestra parts, which, thankfully, were xeroxes. However, on the very dimly lit bright side, the duffel bag had been recently "marked" by a cat, and once something gets "marked", well, you know it. The worst part of the whole deal was the shock of discovering that someone had done such a thing... and all that broken glass.
