Well, you've read the notes, the notes were early, and now it is time for you to post until the early cows come home.

Would that make a great ad campaign?

How many dates left, Chino?  How many, and still have one left for me?

I never read any magazines on a regular basis.  I remember reading MAD a little when I was in middle school, but that was about it...other than TV Guide (before it became the magazine that it is today :P).

I read

MAD
Starloge
Cinefantisque (When I first stated to read it they had "lengthy, information-filled "retrospective" articles devoted to the full production details of such classic films as The Incredible Shrinking Man and Planet of the Apes. Based on the popularity of these articles, Cinefantastique began producing huge double-issues centering on comprehensive Making-Of looks at such movies as Star Wars (the magazine's first double-issue), Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Blade Runner and The Thing."

Recently I would read Video Watchdog but Borders or Barbes and Nobel no longer carry it down here and not sure if it still publishes

I currently read Instinct

DR CILLA LIZ - that's great news....I am only in the second week of my diet and the end of the first week of my exercise program, so I haven't seen much change....although the clothes do fit better.  I am hoping to have a give away party as well.

Also if you have a friend in a theatre company, you might ask if they would like the clothes for their costume collection.  If they do contemporary plays, they always need different stuff.

TOD:

MAD MAGAZINE of course.....only 25 cents....I loved everything except SPY vs SPY which I thought was dumb.  The parodies and the Don Martin cartoons - the parody ads.....the television parodies.

I also bought FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND and CREEPY and EERIE.  I liked CREEPY better, I don't remember why.

I also liked Tales of the Unexpected the Comic Book....but that might not be the title...the stories usually had a little Twilight Zone/O. Henry twist ending.

And the word of the day is: ANTONOMASIA!
Antonio Masia used to drive everyone crazy by refusing to use people's names, and using pronouns instead.  "Did you hear what she said about her?  She said she was a two-bit floozy, and then she said she was a frigid emasculator, and then she said she didn't think she could even spell that, and that's when she slapped her, so she slapped her back, and when she tried to stop the fight they both slapped her, and when they finally broke them up they all looked like something their cat had drug in."

(I used to know someone who did this.  The above monologue is almost exactly the sort of thing she Carla would say.  I swear, listening to her Carla talk drove me nuts.)

Wrong.  Authur Laurents would insist it all be said in Spanish, with supertitles, for authenticity.

¿Cuántas fechas dejaron, Chino? ¿Cuántos, y todavía ha dejado uno para mí?

And don't forget to pronounce the "j" as an "h".  We must be authentico, si?

The Heat Goes Off At Midnight

That is the name of my new mystery thriller - a stage adaptation of the novel The Heat Goes Off At Dawn, which was filmed as The Heat Goes Off At Noon.

Wow, Jrand, that really could be the clue in a mystery, couldn't it?  :)  The person turning the heat on after committing a crime, not realizing that if no one were home at midnight per his alibi, the heat wouldn't have been on.

Happy happy birthday to DR Noel!!!

(To those who've read Noel and my arguments online :) , I really do like Noel a lot and admire his abilities a great deal, and wish him much success and happiness.  I reserve the right to argue vociferously with some of his points online, but still get along well with him at the HHW gatherings!!!)

Oddly, I have that sort of interaction with two people on All that Chat - that I find myself arguing with their posts, but when I see them in person, I find them to be the most delightful people.

Maybe that's a question for an Ask BK Day - Are there people that you get into arguments with online but think are great when you meet them?  Or vice-a versa also, perhaps.

Good morning, all! As soon as the Staples around the corner opens, I have to photocopy this score that consumed my yesterday and deliver it. After that, hopefully, I can get back to the Napa Valley and Mr Esposito's wedding. I have a telephone conversation later today with a Houston conductor about a concert Ron Raines is doing in April.

DR Nursie, to answer your inquiry about MONK: I liked the show quite a lot in its frst two seasons and I occasionally enjoy an episode, but I find that when the writers screw up - and they seem to do it a lot because they're running out of ticks for him - they lose the sense of the character (how could the fool I saw last night ever pass the exam to be a cop?) and I thought if I heard Mr Shalhoub be cruel to Natalie or whine one more time about his leg I would throw things at the tv. As to characterizaton on the show, why the passive Ntalie would take such crap from him is still beyond me. There have been at least two episodes now where he is a complete horror to her andtakes it because at around one minute before the episode ends he apologizes. She should drown him in a tub and ask her agent to find her a new sitcom. Last week's episode was a lot of fun; I hated last night's.

Yes and it seems to be the case....although to her it is "all my fault" and I "don't deserve to be her friend" - this is cause for celebration.

I think there may have been a thermostat mystery already....if not, you can have the plot device.
