Priority #1 right now is SLEEP. I've been going non-stop for the past two months, plus all the packing makes me think this old bod will never forgive me.

Many Issues of Great Significance have been on my mind. Such as,
Where the HELL am I?
What am I doing here?
What?? I SOLD my house??
WHERE is ....<fill in the blank>?

Re:  Last night's LOST.  (No spoiler needed).  I thought it was an OK episode with one major "reveal" which was, indeed, very cool, but the rest of it kind of left me cold.

Also, re:  LOST.  Not sure if we've discussed this before, but one of the things I find completely illogical is why the island's temporal displacement would cause it to disappear.  Just because it's changing times doesn't mean it's changing space.  Or have I misunderstood something?

TOD: The most unusual fad I participated in, because of pressure from my friends and roommate: STREAKING!  (OK, I was younger and much much thinner and wore a mask!)

From Wikipedia:  The current record for the largest group streak was established at the University of Georgia, with 1,543 simultaneous streakers on March 7, 1974

Since I was such a well-behaved child and never got into trouble, my mom admitted to me that she was glad I did this. She was beginning to worry about me...

No, Jose, no plans for Disneyworld. I do plan to see several old friends while here. I also have some personal business that needs attention. There wasn't time to do it all while in Virginia and these are things that can be done from here.

As for the Topic of the Day...

Mood rings - but I don't think I ever wore one constantly.  I just liked rubbing it and/or placing it in the fridge or freezer to change the color, more like a portable science experiment.

And I guess Walkmans and iPods could have been considered "fads" before they became "accepted".

But that they weren't "supposed" to crash, they were not supposed to be there.  The reason that all of them have to get off the island now is that something happens which sets off the bomb, and thus destroys the island. So, timeline: Flight takes off in the present day - when the island is already no longer there, flight crashes in the past when the island was still there - or something like that.  I'm also wondering if Sayid's girlfriend who was also Locke's real estate person is somehow going to reappear.  In any case.. ...green power subsidies and carbon offsets, the industry in which DS Betsy is (quite) gainfully employed.  :)

::making note of possible source of views on DC policies on carbon off-sets::

Here in Sussex county, the big flap on green power involves getting planning and zoning cooperation on wind energy (the current rules make residential windmills tough to have). After years of effort, we are finally getting our off-shore wind farm (first in the nation?) even if we do in a few birds.

I am afraid the last round of chemo combine with the continued readiation
really hit me hard this time. Vixtdad had been with me fulltime since MLK Day,
until Tuesday today have we felt secure enough to allow him to go back to work.

Fortunately for me this week is midterm week for Vixter so no school unless
she has a test and she had no test Tuesday so she was home all day with me.

The radiation burns in and out of my mouth and throat have become very
painful.  I find speaking painful and I have not successfully kept anything
in my stomach except Pedialyte from Friday until yesterday.

Monday Vixdad took me in for a hydration at the chemo DR and the IV helped perk me up some.  I had another IV yesterday, (my Dad drove me) and possibly Monday if I need it

The good news is I am DONE with radiation treatments and the Chemo is
DONE!!

Hopefully I will begin recovering from the side effects shortly.

The very, very good news that they believe they have successfully treated the cancer and I will be OK moving forward.  Of course we will be having
continuing checkups and tests but all the doctors are very optomistic

I am sorry for not answering all the individual emails but just typing this
has been exhausting.

Thank you all for your prayers, your calls, cards etc...I cannot express to
you fully how much it all has meant to me

Edi your bell has been a Godsend as I simply cannot speak above a whisper and only a few words at a time because of the throat pain.

The next time we are invited to a charades game the oter folkds better watch out!  Vixdad & Vixter have become expert at interpreting my signs

Elmore- the Vixter got the check and says thanks - $$ will not be handed in until the cookies are deliveredin early March I hope that won't mess up your book keeping

Did I mention we finished watching NORTH & SOUTH?  We loved it.  If you watched & loved Cranford & haven't seen N & S, be sure to do so.  If you are a fan of Jane Austen, be sure to watch this.  If you loved Jane Eyre, be sure to see this ;)

I have a conundrum and it requires me revealing the new Kritzerland release (replacing Lady Oscar) - I need opinions.

For those who have Laurette, you know I love incidental music from plays and our next release (not for publication) are two incidental scores from plays, including what is considered to be the most classic 20th century play.  That music is composed by a major film composer who also did the film version of the play.  The second score is by one of my personal favorite composers (composed one of the best scores of the 1960s) to a play based on a famous foreign story and then classic film.  Now, the music from the classic play had to be mastered from acetates, which is all that was available (at least that I could locate - who knows what might turn up some day, although I would doubt a tape source would ever turn up, unless it was just acetates put on tape).  The acetates, which appeared to be in okay shape, were just very very noisy, had a little groove distortion, etc.  The mastering guy did a really good job cleaning it up, but, after listening to it last night, it's still sounds a little dicey to me.  So the question becomes does history outweigh sound issues?  The intention was at make this a 15.98 release like Laurette and the first Herrmann, both of which came from acetate or vinyl sources.

The problem with this one is that, unlike Laurette, there are only five or six instruments, so it's easier to hear the problems.  But the music is wonderful - the second score is in stereo and will sound fine.  And the CD will run over sixty minutes.  Please let me know what you think.
