Sugar is being too cute and sweet.  She had to roll aoround on my bed for a bit and for some reason nibble on the corners of my pillowcases.  I told her not to and that it was just a sham.

Maybe some CHEYENNE before I take that nap. Might help with pleasant dreams.

Or is that too sugar-laden and therefore also forbidden?
I think that is worth any heart attack, stroke, high-cholesterol, anemia. gout....

DR Ann, a romantic evening out with DH Jed & a great show- :)  I especially enjoyed reading about our talented DR TCB.

Thank you, Jane.  I wish you could have seen me on stage sometime.

Me too!  Maybe one day I will.

Thanks for the info DR Jane. I will take a look at it. Although the peanut butter i buy is made in canada.

It is not where your peanut butter is made, Jennifer, that you have to worry about.  The problem is where they purchased the peanuts to make the butter.

I read the list DR Jane posted for Canada. I did not recognized 90% of the brands. And the ones i did recognize i don't buy.

There hasn't been much news of the recalls here. It doesn't seem like they are recalling any main brands.

The contaminated "peanut product" is mainly used by food processors (cookies, candy, etc.) and also packaged in bulk for institutional users - hospitals, schools, prisons, hotel kitchens, etc.)

der Brucer

My Mother used to pick-up some extra bucks working for a local "snack" distributor. She would sit in the back room of a store front moving peanut butter from 5 gallon "buckets" onto a variety of crackers and then rolling the finished product in cellophane and sealing the packages on a hot plate. I had to check in every day after school before I went about my business. It was piece work - so Mom could run home and check on a simmering pot roast if she wanted. When Mom combined her cracker earnings with my delivery boy/gardening funds, we had enough to pay for a two week family vacation in Sarasota Florida.

Here's a pic of "Kitty" and my roommate, Jim, that was taken a couple of minutes ago.

It was sort of a "Farewell Kitty" pic.  Faith had been trying to find a shelter that would take Kitty, but it turned out that her boyfriend - who lives in Brooklyn - decided to keep and take care of Kitty.  -Which would allow Faith to keep seeing Kitty.  ;)

Sweet photo with a happy ending :)

Last night on the news they reported that home values here increased 5% over the past year and foreclosures are at the lowest in 5 years. Our local economy was bad when everyone else was good.    The inflation, however we have.  It seemed like all the prices at the store today were higher than in the past.

I should tell Craig to look for a job near you.

Hey, I like seeing sugar laden and fattening. I don't gain weight by looking at them.

Oh, have I mentioned I'm now half way to my goal. I've lost 35 pounds!

CONGRATULATIONS!

I've just heard that John McGlinn is dead.

I wonder if any of the wronged parties will have a hard time getting their purloined scores back now.

I was on the phone about this with Ron Raines; I doubt McGlinn had a will or an executor and I wonder if any of his family who end up cleaning out his mess will know what to do with all of his "borrowed" items and return them to the proper places, like the original scores for NO NO NANETTE, or the stuff he was supposed to send to the Library of Congress when they bought his collection and found a lot of what he supposedly sent wasn't sent.

I figured someone would have answered the question by the time I caught up.

Interesting story, and sweet you combined your part time earning for a vacation.

The Daily Irony:

A provision limiting compensation for top executives of companies receiving federal bailout assistance was dropped from the Stimulus Bill - the Government didn't want to lose the expected $11 billion they will collect on the multimillion dollar salaries.

Hey, I like seeing sugar laden and fattening. I don't gain weight by looking at them.

If pictures and descriptions of food are making you "uncomfortable", well...

Put down the Morning Bun and the Chocolatine!

I seldom -- SELDOM -- have a morning bun OR a chocolatine.  Do remember that it was YOU who brought them up, not me.

I love it when we have pictures of favorite foods.

But when one person posts cupcake photos, does it then require several people doing it,  too?

What is cute the first time one reads or sees it becomes VERY tired the 4th,  6th or 7th time it's repeated.

I'll get over it.   I always do.  I hope you will, too.

 ;)

And mine was the larger portion.  This blue-eyed bond-headed pre-teen could charm the bucks right out of the old ladies purses; just sit and be interested in tales about "when I was young". Actually, it wasn't hard to "be interested". A lot of the stories were about life in late nineteenth century rural America, and other's were tales on immigrating from Europe or Russia. (And the scrap book pictures were amazing!)

We went to the arboretum about 50 miles away.

Indeed!

Then we stopped at the Black Bear Diner for lunch before heading home. Mr. Goldstein has pneumonia, so I know he needed the time to catch up on his rest.

Heck with the walk, I want to hear more about Mrs Goldstein's rendition of "Another Suitcase In an Another Hall".

I always enjoy the food pictures from Jose and others.  Even though I've lost forty-five pounds I, too, like to look - it's not a temptation, just fun, for me at least.
