Marsha Hunt was most wonderful for me in support of Susan Hayward in SMASH UP THE STORY OF A WOMAN.

TOD:

I've always had a strange affinity for the 1930's.  It started with my interest in horror movies of that era, then to movies in general and then to the stage.  But it goes beyond all that--I love seeing pictures of how people lived their everyday lives back then.  While I've never collected it, anything made of Bakelite fascinates me.  I enjoy seeing newspapers and magazines from that time, too.  I truly believe that I was living during that era.

Last night DR Jose asked:
Quote
DR Dan (the Man) - It sounded like an alternator problem to me.  I went through the same thing with each of the three cars I had.  And, like yours, they always seemed to die in the midst of traffic instead of just not starting up in the driveway.  -Did they also check your distributor cap and fuel injectors?

They probably will--I asked them to give everything a once over, even though I knew that could leave me open for a mugging.  But other than changing my  the car's various fluids and replacing a signal bulb, they found no additional problems.

I didn't see that one--I keep missing stuff on eBay with their "new, improved" search.  I have one of her with him--she's standing behind him.  Is it that one?  Let's trade scans if not.

Ya know, there might be a TV show there--a lawyer in Nigeria who really does have money to give away--but no one will take it!!!

Reality show or sitcom or a dramedy like ALY McBEAL--I haven't decided yet...

I've been up since six-thirty.  I got Mr. Willison's Anya notes, which, as I knew they would be, were way too long.  I don't think he'll be thrilled with the cuts I'm asking him to make, but one way or the other he has to make them.  He had seven and a half pages of single-spaced Word text - which is almost three pages too many.  He's also used to using tiny type in booklets to have more words - I will not do tiny type - people like our booklets because you can actually read them.  And since I know exactly the page count that I write when I do the notes, and how that translates to booklet pages, i know exactly how many pages he has to cut.  I sent him back a version in which I cut one page and had suggestions as to how to get the other two out (one lift would take care of one and a half of the two pages).

Something you might consider is "additional notes available at Kritzerland.com."

I would certainly love to read Walter's full text on the show, but I certainly understand bk's necessity to have booklets that don't strain one's eyesight. I think DR JMK's suggestion is a good one.

Hmmm...DEAR LOVED ONE (my Nigerian Lawyer idea) might make a good movie.  I need to have my people call Queen Latifah's people.  If she's not interested, I'll have my people call Mo'Nique's people (though, in that case, we might be back to doing a sitcom again.)

The period I simply cannot comprehend is the Holocaust. I don't understand the hatred, and I certainly don't understand the systematic annihilation of a race of people with (seemingly) no second thoughts about it and certainly no guilt or shame. No matter how many books I read on the period, I can't wrap my mind around how this happened and was allowed to happen.

Now I must head downstairs. Because I slept so late this morning (the best night's sleep I've had in weeks), I didn't have time to clean the living room before coming upstairs for my workout and morning internet surf, so I must do that. Then, it's into the kitchen to start preparing meat loaf which will be the main dish in my lunch for today.

DR Matt--I was going to write about the time I had become slightly obsessed with the Holocaust for precisely the reasons you mentioned.  It started when I was still in sixth grade with my scanning through Time Magazine's Yearbooks of the late '40s and seeing pictures of mostly German POW camps. But when I saw the TV moive version of QBVII I was stunned and began to read and research more and more about it, trying to discover some kind of answer about this horror for myself.  At some point, when I was in my early 20's, I stopped.  Today, I almost completely shy away from the subject.  I still haven't seen SCHINDLER'S LIST.
