Friday morning greetings!  Richard and I are going to Findlay Market today with one of my former coworkers.  It's a beautiful day for this sort of adventure.

Well BK has inspired me to go back and listen to all the Trotter, Ellis and the Geissman recordings.

BK for the GG recording you were referring to Broadway's Biggest 97-98 correct?

And GG also did Bacharach: The Instrumental Side,  Hit TV: Television's Top Themes and Out At The Movies

And of course that great European group Omote-Sando who did Cinema Romance

Interesting side not on Hit TV: Television's Top Themes

It suffered from the Anya original cast album (LP) notes effect.

There are tracks listed on the back insert of the CD that are no longer on it, tracks that are on the cd but not listed in the notes, the tracks are in a different order and there is one track missing

Below is the actual order of the tracks on the cd The tacks in " ( ) " are how they appear on the insert

1. Searchin' My Soul {From Ally McBeal}
2. Seinfeld
3. Law & Order
4. Caroline in the City
5. Fraiser
6. Oz
7. Dhrama and Greg*  (South Park)
8. X-Files
9. Mad About You
10. ER
11. Buffy, The Vampire Slayer* (The Nanny)
12.The Nanny* (Touched By Angel)
13. Touched By An Angel* (Friends (I'll Be There For You))
14. Friends (I'll be there For You (The Magnficent Seven)   ..  &                                                                                                                                                                                                           15.  Third Rock From the Sun* (Not listed)

* The line up is slightly different from what is printed on the back CD insert.  7. South Park (Is not on this recording) 11. The Nanny (Bumped to #12)     12. Touched By An Angel (Bumped to #13) 13. Friends (Bumped to #14) 14. The Magnificent Seven (Is not on the recording) 15. There is no track #15 listed.

BORDER's 50% OFF CDs & DVDs SALE

Borders is getting rid of there CDs & DVDs as they cannot make money from it (A store manager told me this) and they will only have current best sellers for sell.

I suggest you go early as I waited to long to go to the one in Boca and the pickings were very slim.

I have a feeling that Borders will also be on their way out very soon if they can't make money from music and movies how could they do it from just books??

Border's started (quietly) liquidating their CD & DVD stock a while ago (relatively).  -You could probably get a more exact date from DR td. :-\

As for how they will survive selling "just books", well... Just remember, Border's was originally "just" a book store. -Like most of their Waldenbooks brand stores were and are.

DR elmore - As for the musical reading you went to yesterday...

Yes, Matthew Gumley is a great kid!  He was one of my Mary Poppins kids, and he really does possess some great talent.  And Mark Price too - another Mary Poppins cast member.  His Toby in Sweeney Todd at the Kennedy Center is still the most endearing and heartbreaking portrayal of that role I've ever seen, experienced.

I used to shop at Border Brothers when it was a hole-in-the-wall used bookstore on State Street in Ann Arbor.

Good morning, all! A combination of UPS problems and my super's sudden refusal to accept packages has put the past two days has forced me to be u pleasant this morning with my landlord and UPS. Now I'm essentially stuck here today because on Wednesday my super refused a package and on Thursday the driver ignored my signed release telling him to leave the package at my door. Damn.

DR Jose, I am told the Audra thing is true and I've heard it from two different sources. I honestly don't know, but as I said, she's so grand I can't imagine she has sex.

DR JRand58, sorry nothing on SHOOTING STAR. Yesterday was its first reading.

In honor of "Flawless Leader" Jose, I will take the OCR of The Producers to work today.

I always have it with me on my iPod.  THE PRODUCERS is most probably my favorite musical score of the last ten years.  I often hear it derided as being merely a spoof or that it's "not real Broadway" and I have no idea what these people are talking about.  For me, every song instantly landed the first time I heard it--there were no repeated listenings in order to grow to love the score.  Boom!  It was love at first sight--er, hearing.

If I ever find my way back to the stage, I would love to play Max.

Hmmm...while I think that Audra MacDonald is a very sexy and attractive woman, I'm surprised that she has the time to spare to fool around.

MEdia Check:

iPod:  The Decemberists--THE HAZARDS OF LOVE, Marianne Faithfull--20TH CENTURY BLUES, and possibly THE PRODUCERS

Tivo:  THE DEATH OF JOE EGG and some of the Robert Osborne interviews from TCM

DVD:  THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS COMEDY HOUR Season 3 and the Live from Lincoln Center A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC

I wish I had the Trotter Trio PASSION cd here at work right now--I'm in the mood to listen to that now, too.

I just finished going over the list of "bubble" shows and shows closest (if not already gone) to cancellation.

Among the big shocks: CASTLE is listed as "on the bubble." I thought it was one of the biggest hits ABC has had in quite a while. I would be SHOCKED to see it not renewed.

MEDIUM, CHUCK, COLD CASE are all listed as "bubble" shows. COLD CASE still pulls in healthy ratings, but the music rights to the old tunes it uses cost a fortune, and since CBS doesn't want to pay additional fees, they can't make money back on DVDs since they don't release the show on DVD.

I'm sure DR Jane will be unhappy to notice that WORST WEEK is in the "Dead or Nearly Dead" column.

Here's the link to the whole list:

Yes, my work project today is Stephen Frears' THE HIT. There is a commentary, but not a plethora of bonus features, so I should have no trouble finishing this today and having some free time tonight to watch something fun.
