Luckily the Vixter has good parental units.

*gosh*

Thanks!

Have any of you seen Altar Boyz?

If you have - do you think it would be a fun (and appropriate) show to take the Vixter and some of her friends to as as Sweet 16 Celebration?

I just got an email advertising $25 and $30 tickets which is something that I could probably swing for 3 or 4 girls.

Opinions?

And yes the Vixter turns 16 on the 29th!

We saw it last summer when we were in Austin, deciding if we wanted to move here.  It was playing at the ZACH (Zachary Scott Theatre)

We enjoyed it.  It was a fun show.

We got the estimate from the caterer this morning for Gabe's Bar Mitzvah.  Almost 3K.  Oy.

In the good news department, the wonderful Budget Committee at the church where I work decided last night not to cut staff hours/salary by 20%, which had been on the table due to the economy.  I'm incredibly grateful.  As is the caterer.

OK I will try to stop worrying about the nearly $350.00 the Vixter's school ring is going to cost ( and she chose one of the least expensive rings, in fact she chose the cheapest metal which we  decided to upgrade to silver - gold, even the 10K gold, was out of reach - they also had options like diamonds for side stones (she chose cubic zirconia and we did not disuade her).

I could not believe how expensive these rings are - the salesman for the ring company must make a nice living!

Continues to be a heavenly day. A slight little breeze greeted me as I sat on the porch while my lunch was cooking.

I have an urge to visit with you for the rest of my recuperation, Matt H: a lovely clean house, a nice porch to sit on during all your sunny and warm days and then state of the art movie viewing!

It sounds heavenly!  What are your day rates?  ;)

Back from the grocery store - tonight's dinner=burgers 'n' fries, tomorrow's=chicken 'n' rice.  Isn't retirement exciting?

Hey! Retirement is the GREATEST thing that ever happened to me. I can't imagine working a 9-5 job any more. I LOVE what I do now!

And those dinners sound GREAT! Simplicity is the key!

Yeah, I agree, DR MattH.  I'm just in a bit of a funk today, mostly dreading what I have to do tomorrow - take my 80-year-old aunt to a gastroenterologist.

Oh I hope its' nothing too invasive that needs to be done.  You are a good niece to accompany her.

GI visits are not my favorite but right now  my GI Dr is definitely high on my list of People I am Grateful For

This morning, I went to my dentist.  I had a very good check-up.  No new cavities...yet again!

;D

Wasn't that an old Colgate commercial?

Congratulations on the good news George!

I am sorry Ben for you and Ant and for Ant's Mom.  It is always hard to lose a beloved pet and MacGregor looks like a sweetie!

If any DRs are planning on driving in the lovely state of Delaware in the future, beware:

I now have my Learner's Permit!

Congratulations SWW!

The Vixter will be eligible for hers in 8 days.

Here in New York you can access the study guide online and take practice tests.

I'll alert the media should she decide to move forward in that direction!

I must take Sherlock before it gets too hot.  I really was miserable yesterday.  Last night was my worst night yet.  If it weren't for drugs I wouldn't get any sleep.

There are a few folks I see every day on my walk from the parking garage to work who apparently feel the same way!

Tonight, I'm going up to Seattle to see Sunday in the Park with George with Hugh Panaro, Patti Cohenour and Susannah Mars!!  I wish I had a video camera that I could sneak in. ;)

Go backstage and tell Hugh the phone number i have is no longer good and I gave up on his email address ages ago.

I don't think they'd let me anywhere near backstage! ;)

Well what the....?  Don't they KNOW who you are?

Take some clippings...!

:D

The problem is that they probably DO know who I am!! ;D

I watched last night's CASTLE while I ate lunch. It was a very enjoyable episode. Not much mystery to it, but the banter between the two leads brings back the wonderful back-and-forth that Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd shared in MOONLIGHTING.

We haven't watched it yet.  Every week we enjoy the show more.  The first half of the first episode the guy seemed more of a jerk than funny, now we find him delightful.  I love when he uses his "author" voice. Keith likes that there isn't a back story.  He doesn't mind the one in THE MENTALIST as much as on LIFE.

DR Ben, MacGregor was a cutie.  Unless asked I wouldn't mention his passing.  Might his mother tell him?  Please give him our condolences.

Congratulations S.W.W.!!!  Does this also mean DerBrucer renewed his license & is legal to drive?  I think it was nice for his daughter to be concerned and take you.  Did she drive all three times?

DR Woody, remember:  a permit to drive is not a permit to go joyriding with a carload of boys until all hours of the night.
