No one took the quiz?

I have seen that before and got the expected answer.    :)

According to his post earlier today, DR SWW did not.      :)   :)

Well, I think we all knew that SWW would go down his own path.  For example, I bet Jeanne didn't take the test and I'd bet she's never seen it before.

DR Ginny I have begun reading THE HEARTS OF HORSES. :)

DR Jane - hope you like it!  I now want to read Molly Gloss' other novels, but I'm totally engrossed in The Red Leather Diary at the moment.

Bruce, I've seen similar quizzes, but, you see, I had to skip over it earlier today because I hadn't flossed yet.

And isn't it funny, did you have any idea that elephants were indigenous to Denmark?

And Jackals are not indigenous to Djibouti.

der Brucer

Djibouti has been prominent in recent news because its port city sits at the juncture of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden and is the natural jumping off point for a war against the Somali pirates.

I had meant on my way to the NYPL to stop for a snack but I forgot. So, about 30 minutes ago my blood sugar crashed and I had to run hom for some lunch. I just had some salad and a tuna salad sandwich znc in about five minutes I should feel fine. As soon as I do, I think I will run to the market.

DR JRand, I hope you remembered to record the Shirley MaClaine marathon on TCM this afternoon (which includes TWO FOR THE SEESAW.)

I didn't realize that "Two for the Seesaw" would be on TCM until after I had ordered it from Amazon.co.uk.  It arrived earlier this week.  I set my DVR to record it so that I can compare...just because.

Today marks the birthdays of both Shirley MacLaine and Barbra Streisand. (Shirley is a few years older.)

It's also Eric Bogosian, Peter Friedman and Michael O'Keefe's birthdays. :D

Just spent forty minutes on the phone with Apple Care dealing with some odd problems that happened out of the blue an hour ago.  For example, suddenly I couldn't launch iTunes, iPhoto, or Address Book - got an error message each time.  Couldn't launch system preferences or software update.  Mail was working fine.  I got a guy from India and told him not to waste my time and to get me to a product specialist in the US.  While I was on hold for that to happen, I restarted the computer - launched Word and the printer, but it took forever with that damned spinning wheel.  Got a product specialist and told him what was going on.  He had me shut off the computer and launch it in "safe" mode, which I did.  He then talked me through several steps and by the end of it we restarted in normal mode and voila, everything was working fine.

My quiz results are Delaware and elephant. Yeah, so?

My dad had an Ogden Nash book. I only remember the last line of one poem: "I would not engage the wombat in any mortal form of combat."

Through a terrible twist in fate, Mark and I ended up at the House of Pies a couple nights ago. I ordered the peanut butter pie, even though I didn't think I would like it because there's no chocolate in it. I ordered it anyway just because Bruce likes it and it was quite delicious. But it would be even better with a layer of chocolate in there to create the ultimate Reeses effect. Mark is going to try Alavert just because Bruce likes it, but I'm sure it won't be as delicious as the peanut butter pie. Regardless, he's hoping it stops his periodic all-day sneezing fits. If he just ate a slice of peanut butter pie instead, his lips would swell up to the size of Nadya Suleman's, but I'll bet he'd stop sneezing!!

I'm grooming my first parti-poodle tomorrow. No, a parti-poodle is not a dog wearing pantaloons, pointy party hats, and eating ham chunks. A parti-poodle is a poodle that's part black and part white.
