Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a little nude, and now it is time for you to post until the nude cows come home.

BK, I always enjoy reading about the history of "TFNM."  That certainly is on my list for today's Topic of the Day. :D

Morning all.

The meeting at the Ford Foundation went very well. Now it's back to the salt mines and the PRIs.

It may hit 90 degrees here today but because it's not May 1st the climate control has not been turned on so it's very stuffy and unpleasant in the office. Some are complaining. At least I don't have a tie on today.

The car has not been examined by a mechanic yet. Anthony and Phil took it in yesterday but they can't look at it until tomorrow.

Good morning, all! I have a lot of running around today. First, Toyland to drop off some things and to pick up some scores, Then, 200 East 72nd Street, to John McGlinn's apartment to advise the movers about some scores and what to do with them. Hopefully, by now, the movers have been arranged for tomorrow.

After that, back here. I need to talk to some colleagues about our next course of action concerning the failure to replace our office manager and perhaps be talked out of the angry email I've been composing. Or helped in finessing its anger.

TOD:
Because I'm up to my proverbial neck in the show, BABES IN TOYLAND, to see how much of my recording of events matches the reality of the production's intrigues and to observe America's first great director-choreographer at work.

Tuesday morning greetings!  I'm up early today to get myself ready for a phone call from my aunt about taking her grocery shopping.  Looks like it's going to rain, so she might back out.

Enjoyed reading about TFNM.  I read all about it in the papers when it came out, and there was controversy about it....and Cindy Williams.

Then I read Denny Peary's book CULT MOVIES that had a very complimentary section on TFNM and lots of funny pictures.  So.....I found a video copy for $5 at some record store...

And NOW we have the great DVD version.....what a funny movie.  I think it's even funnier to watch with the commentary....

Vibes for casting.......and the first person who sings "Scales" should really get a silver dollar.

Last night's rehearsal was good.  And I am sure that a lot of people WISHED they had been listening at a few of the other rehearsals.....

And my character suddenly got thrown into the middle of the opening which in the revised version is done in about five parts of singing "Another Op'nin" and it took a LONG time for people to go where they had been told to go.  And then of course the dancing had to be modified.

And then SCENE FIVE which has about four songs and also took forever.  Tonight is music only....which will be less stressful for me.

TAMS WITMARK report.  Hopefully this is the wave of the future.  For the revised version of KISS ME KATE, instead of sides, the minor characters get little books with their ENTIRE scenes in them, and a little STAR beside the name of their character....not just SIDES!!!

TOD:

Play:  I very much enjoyed reading about the creative process behind the RSC's NICHOLAS NICKLEBY so I imagine that being there would be even more fascinating.

Musical:  This would be a toss-up between WEST SIDE STORY and FORUM, both to see Jerome Robbins at work (particularly the latter with that cast of comics.)

Movie:  RIght now I'm thinking of the set of one of the Busby Burkley musicals like GOLD DIGGERS OF 1935 or DAMES to see Burkley in action and to see what the sets and costumes looked like in color.

Better.  I guess.

*Now if Tams would be a bit more "realistic" in their tier structure in regards to their royalty payments. So much is still based on the seating capacity of the theater, and not the price of the tickets nor the professional/Equity status either.

Greetings from Toyland!

It's quite warm today and I wish that Matthew, our former office manageer, had taken care of the AC problem before he quit. Now God alone knows what's going to happen here!

The one bit of good news is that, just before I left the apartment, my dad's attorney called about a possible offer on the property, although I'm sure my two brothers will kibosh it since it's not the million that the greedy Macbeths want for it! And Randy who gets emotionally beaten down by Macbeth regularly - the reason I think my dad wanted me to stay executor - will no doubt go along with the ass.

That does seem like an improvement. I'll never forget the sides for L'IL ABNER. I was playing the scientist, but into his character they also incorporated the lines of a bunch of other characters to cut down on casting, and I was juggling about four of those hideous little side folders. What a nightmare!

Good morning!

Another pretty day though there are more clouds in the sky than the last few days. Rain still isn't forecast until Thursday, but we're also going to be back to the mid-80s today. Ugh!
