After 75 minutes in the oppressive filth of the McGlinn apartment, I had to leave: dust 2-3 inches thick everywhere, a complete mess of an apartment with empty cassette and CD cases everywhere, LPs, DATs, CDs and reel-to-reel tapes everywhere, floor and shelves, and the hugest private collection of scores, vocal and orchestra, i've ever seen: complete hardbound editions of Schoenberg, Walton, Beethoven, vocal scores of operas from all of the places he'd worked: tons of Tschaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Shostakovich, and Glinka in Russian, and pages of manuscript in his hand for numbers from Gershwin, Rodgers & Hart, Porter, etc. everywhere. On my way up Lexington Avenue, I thought about the whole situation and burst into tears and sobbed at the corner of 79th Street and Lexington Avenue as I waited for the bus.

Well, I see Luke and Noah are free but I missed the big scene because of a press conference by the Mayor about the swine flu problem. Why he couldn't have waited for Dr Phil is beyond me!

Sorry I left so abruptly earlier.  My aunt called and wanted to go shopping NOW, so I quickly logged off and went out to pick her up.  She got her shopping done and I did a library errand on my way home.

The skies have cleared and it's now as beautiful a day as the last several have been. It feels a tiny bit cooler, too. The downstairs in my house is very comfortable from having been cooled down this morning.

What a muddle, but I have to say hearing about the contents of his apartment doesn't surprise me. Sounds exactly like what I would have expected.

As for AS THE WORLD TURNS, I didn't get to it yet, but I shall later today.

I began my afternoon watching last night's episode of CASTLE. Pretty good case that had me guessing until the end who was up to what.

Good show. Sorry it's "on the bubble" and might be canceled. ABC just can't seem to nurture a procedural.

I also took the time (waiting for the mail to come) to finish LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT which I had started last night but only got 2/3 of the way through.

A REALLY surprising murderer! Nice way to introduce Jeff Goldblum to LAW & ORDER with such a tricky case and double homicides.

Then I started watching DEXTER on Blu-ray. That's right! The Fox Blu-rays still did not arrive.

The show looks just fine in 1080p. I routinely watch it in 1080i on Showtime-HD, but they've manipulated the picture on the Blu-rays to give it a more natural look than it has on the paycable airings.

I STILL have last week's SMALLVILLE and THE OFFICE plus last night's HEROES on my DVR. Depending on how much DEXTER I get watched tonight and how much BD-Live content there is will determine if I get any of those other DVR shows watched before primetime TV begins for me with NCIS.

I guess I'll head back to the home theater and continue with DEXTER and its bonuses. The label said it's BD-Live active, but I didn't see any BD-Live function in any of the menus of the three discs. Maybe it's hidden in other layers of the menus.

ANGEL

At 1:45 p. m. this afternoon, my beloved kitty, Angel, passed away while I held her and told her how much I loved her.  The doctor said that her intestines were full of small tumors.   He told me it was time to let her go.  I took this photo of Angel just an hour before we left for the doctor's office.  She was a fighter until the end.  She went very peacefully, without any fear or pain.  I will always love her and be grateful for the sixteen years we spent together.

Awwww, DR TCB, she was so pretty! I am so sorry.

I had a Siamese for 16 years and we finally put her to sleep because she became so mean that, when she was angry, she would surprise you with major lacerations. Her last attack removed a chunk of my Aunt Dorothy's calf and that was the final straw for my mother. I wish we could have sent her over to Lady M's.

Minnesota Moron and Republican Rep. Michelle Bachmann is now blaming Obama for the current swine flu situation and speculating that swine flu is a Democratic phenomenon going back to Carter. This woman is a complete idiot, and she was elected by a majority of what I can only consider fools in her district. Talk about the dumbing down of America!
