Happy Happy Birthday, FJL...or should I say my long-lost "Dad"?

Case!  What a brief, but pleasant surprise.

Too long errant and truant have I been.  So, now with all the First Nudie stuff going on, I figured now is as good a time as any to start reintegrating myself.

Today is going to be a long rehearsal day.  I have to be at the theater at noon for a mic fitting.  Then from 2:00 to 4:00 is a sitzprobe, then a two hour break, and then first dress rehearsal from 6:00 to 10:45 (we are doing the Eugene O'Neil version of GUYS AND DOLLS).

My tummy is feeling a little weird, so I think I will forego the jog - unless the sun comes out later and I'm feeling better - we shall see.

(I had this lovely box of chocolates I was going to send you, but, alas, the box never made it to the P.O.)

What a coincidence!  The same thing happened to my birthday gift for DR FJL - a box o' fruity snacks.

My birthday is on Tuesday...can I have one of those?? :D

Cason, I don't know if you'd read this, but a local community theater here in Olympia, WA will be doing The Brain From Planet X in the spring!

This last week has been anything but great.  I won't go into details as I'm just writing it off as a challenging week and things are beginning to look up.

However, all I really want is for the Stage Manager to call the curtain DURING the final chord of Act One.  I've tried to explain the concept to her a dozen times, I've even tried English the last 2 times!!!!  The curtain comes down on the final HELD CHORD of the Act One.  Every night, I wait for the curtain to come down, but it never moves.  Therefore, I have to cut the ensemble off in the light because they can't hold that final chord forever and we are left with a stupid tableau, so NOT R&H!!!!

Happy Birthday to DR FJL

Here in Olympia, yesterday was absolutely beautiful!  Very warm and sunny.  I was going to walk to work today, but now it's raining!  I love the rain, but it's not fun to walk to work in it. :-\ So, I'll be driving to work...as usual.

Hell, yes!  They've just started rehearsing "Romeo & Juliet" right now and I've been cast as Romeo's father.  "R&J" is the fifth show that I've done with them, so I think I have a good chance to be in The Brain. ;)

TOD:

I don't like violence and don't usually look, but, that said, I also found the rape and murder in VIRGIN SPRING most disturbing, as well as the throat-cutting in SWEENEY TODD.
