Yes, it is.  I noticed the difference even early this morning while taking Sugar for a walk.  It wasn't that hot yet, but there was a different quality to the heat than earlier in the week.

Welcome back to New York City, bk!

-Sorry I'm going to miss you this time.

FYI - The sound booth at The Metropolitan Room is equipped to record the show should you so desire. Just ask, and tip the sound guy accordingly.

I try quoting someone....the quote pops up and then disappears and the Quick Reply box is just an empty place.

"Not, I," said DR JoseSPiano.

I've just picked up a short-term and part-time job organizing and cataloguing someone's [print] music library.

I never use the Quick Reply box.  In my profile, I have the "Use quick reply on topic display:" option set to "show, off by default" and I've never had any trouble.  I always use the "Quote" button or the "Reply" button. :-\

I've just used the "Quote" button (and successfully), but the quoted material appears in the "Quick Reply" box.  It has no place else to appear.   And that is what was acting up for me earlier.  I would press "quote" and the quote would appear in, and then disappear from, the quick reply box.

bk appears to have brought mild weather and semi-sunshine with him from southern CA!      :D

It started raining again in Chicago today. My friend "blamed" me for the rain since it had cleared up while I was there over the weekend. He wants me to come back. ;)

OK, here's something weird:  I bid on and won the BD of the Batman Anthology on eBay.  About 3 days later I got a sealed box from Amazon with it in it, which I thought was peculiar, but which was fine.  I thought maybe somebody used a giftcard or something.  Well today (almost a week and a half after the auction closed) I got emails from eBay and PayPal saying they had "ended" the auction and that I shouldn't complete the transaction.  Isn't that weird?

I await the follow-up to this story.  If there is one.  And I hope there is. ;)

And now it doesn't work any longer, so I cannot "quote" the DAW posting that reads "VERY WARM FOR MAY".

Yes, Lil DAW, it IS very warm for May...even here.  Today is very muggy and "close."

Dare I say it without jinxing us?   It's EARTHQUAKE weather!

Today I have ordered 20 feet of Subway sandwiches:

6 feet of ham
6 feet of cold cut combo
3 feet of tuna salad
3 feet of chicken salad
2 feet of veggie

They will be cut in 4" portions, half on white bread, half on whole wheat, with lettuce and tomato.  Cheese, pickles, and black olives on the side.  Add 2 kinds of chips, assorted beverages (pop, water, coffee & tea), and assorted cookies and you have the menu for the lunch following Richard's deacon ordination service.  It will be in the breakfast area of the Hampton Inn, across the parking lot from the Hilton where the ceremony will take place.  This is all in Northern Kentucky, near the Greater Cincinnati airport.

Will it be set up as one 20-foot long sub? Or will the 4" sections be piled up on platters?

And I'm guessing the Hilton didn't have a party room? Hmm...

Changed rooms and have a desk.  Have downloaded Tom Jones into iTunes and listened - the original recording was VERY low-budget but this sounds as good as it's ever going to sound and the new sequence I did is heavenly - what a difference!  But you get both my new sequence and the original LP sequence - so it's seventy minutes of Tom Jones in two completely different listening experiences.  I'm meeting Juliana A. Hansen at Joe Allen at eight-fifteen.  We'll see if anyone else shows up.

When I get back I'll try to go through the earlier posts again and answer any questions that were asked.  Meantime, Jrand, if your friend would like to meet me, have him e-mail me immediately.

And speaking of the weather...

I just checked the forecast for Manila:

The average High temp: 90℉
The average Low: 80℉
Scattered thunderstorms
Average humidity: 60%

-For all 10 days that I will be there!

However, it will be an easy trip to pack for: t-shirts, shorts, underwear, socks, sneakers and flip-flops.  -And a baseball cap and umbrella.

4" sections on platters.

And, we opted for the Hampton Inn, because we prefer it to Hilton and because the Anglican congregation that meets there (at the Hilton) is having their pastor ordained priest in the same ceremony.  We wanted to separate ourselves from their decision to feed their guests only cake - at noon, after a 2-hour service for which many people will have driven 3-4 hours.  Richard wanted his guests to have more of a meal.

DR KERRY I did not know the history of the filming of RICH AND FAMOUS and party scene filmed at the home of Lon McCallister.....is he in the scene?

Jack, in answer to your question from last night, I don't think Lon McCallister is in the scene, but there are couple of extras that could be him. I wouldn't be surprised, at any rate.

What I remember about "Rich and Famous" is the first review I read...and the critic mocking the seduction scene between Bissett and Lattanzi stating that it was very unbelievable that Ms. Bissett would ever be so desperate for sexual attention as to pick up someone so obviously "not" her type (i.e., "not heterosexual" was the implication).  When I saw the movie, I found myself in complete agreement.

They were implying the actor was not heterosexual or the character was not?
