DR DAW - To supplement your "investment", I highly recommend purchasing another work bowl. Makes it so much easier when you have to whip up a batch of egg whites to add to a cake batter.

Thanks, DR JoseSPiano.  I didn't purchase any of the attachments, but I was thinking that an extra workbowl would come in very handy.

Good morning!

Going to be a hot one here today with highs in the upper 80s. The coolness of the morning was already going away by 10 a.m., and I had to shut the downstairs up to retain some of the earlier cool. I still have the windows open upstairs with both the attic fan and a floor fan going. They'll be shut off when I leave.

Tonight I'm going to see best friend John in a local production of THE FULL MONTY. He's got the smaller role of Reg in the production. My friend Gregg from Winston-Salem is driving down and we're going to see it together. We're going out to dinner before the show.

Looking forward to seeing the show again. Loved the NYC production. I'll be curious to see how it adapts to the community theater level.

Because I'll be gone for a good portion of the evening, I likely won't get any work discs done today. I have THE INSECT WOMAN ready to watch tomorrow afternoon and INTENTIONS OF MURDER for tomorrow night to finish off the Criterion/Imamaura box set. They're both too long to be able to get to either one today.

So, I'll spend this afternoon watching DVR recorded television shows from this past week to clear that off for the upcoming season finales this week.

TOD:

WEST SIDE STORY: It was reissued in 70mm and played at Charlotte's Carolina Theater (the CInerama theater here in the city) around 1967 or so. I was appalled that they added an intermission to it IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RUMBLE!!!

THE MUSIC MAN: original release in 1962. The high school band was asked to play selections from the score outside the theater to drum up business, and then we were allowed to go inside to see the movie for free. Loved it.

ROSEMARY'S BABY: opening weekend in 1968 at the Park Terrace Theater in Charlotte

VERTIGO: the reissue of Hitchcock's prized Universal movies. Was that in the 1980s or 1990s? I can't remember.

The others (CASABLANCA, THE COURT JESTER) were on TV.

Back from the treadmill.  I did do the four miles, but did them a little slower.  I shall now shave and shower.

TOD:
West Side Story: TV  whenver they first showed it.

The Music Man- First run and then on a double bill (with "Lawrence of Arabia") at the drive-in about 3 times.
Casablanca  saw it on TV a number of times and then at a few revival houses..  I remember that by the time, "Play It Again, Sam" came out, I already knew "Casablanca" by heart.
The Court Jester =this showed up as the second bill at drive-ins for abuot a decade ("It Happened  to Jane" with Doris Day was another that you could see at the drive-in and go home and watch on TV for about 10 years) and so saw it there a few times and a lot on TV as a kid.
Vertigo  (Art House revival and then on TV, but I wanted to see it on the big screen first)
The Seventh Voyage Of Sinbad (Kiddie matinees-- probably at the Palms Theatre or Bethany West)
Rosemary’s Baby-- TV, or maybe even a video-- late 70's

I will be forever grateful to Benson and Hedges for sponsoring several summmers throughout the 70's of classic films on the big screen.  And there even a few big screens back then because it was before all the megaplexes took over.

Finished shaving.  Can't tell what sort of day it is but hope I don't need to bring the umbrella.

I must say, my legs haven't been sore from exercise since I began the new jogging routine last July, but boy are they sore from this treadmill.

Anyone who's in Times Square today, stop by and say hello - I'll be in front of the Palace Theater.
