I guess this means that Borders will have their holiday displays up within a few weeks.

Well, why not? They may not be around in November/December!

Something to brighten your day

Ice Cream

And a new Hamburger Truck hits the streets today... And a new cupcake truck started up two weeks ago.. And the Street Sweets truck before that.... Etc., etc., etc.

-Not that I'm complaining. ;)

I believe the mystery of the Mac has been solved. It has to do with putting the little computer box behind the monitor.

Found this on the internet about Gov. Mark sanford.  Someone is wasting time between tax returns.

Nothin' could be fina than to leave South Carolina where it's boring
Nothin' could be keena than to visit Argentina for some scoring
Never dreamed the nation
Would be on my trail
I thought the Appalachian
Might cover up my tale

When I went to see a lady I'll just call Maria who's adoring
Who would have been guessin' I would wind up here confessin' to some whoring
Since I told the country she's the lady I love
They'll fight me 'til I'm no longer guv
Ah, nothin' could be fina than to leave South Carolina where it's boring!

But could you make "Argentina" rhyme with "vagina"?

Consolidated, you and I maintain ourselves erect; separated, we defer to the law of gravity

I think I will try that line in a bar some night.  Well, I guess I would have to go to a bar first.

I'm not much for sites like Classmates.com and all the other stuff that floats around the Internet but yesterday I actually found something from my past! It's fun but a little creepy that things can float around out there without your knowledge.

Someone at Classmates posted a photo album of our East Coast trip in April of 1971 and there are pictures of me, looking anywhere from decent to looking like I'm King of the Nerd People.

I will post two pictures from my past.

Asleep on the Bus, that's the title of my next novel

Cute photos.  You didn't look like a nerd-lol.

Where on Classmates did you find those?  Do you have to search or does your name pop up?

DR Jennifer I hope you can watch the pilot of ROYAL PAINS before the episodes that follow.  I also hope the show does not continue to lose its humor & intelligence.

Today's work project is another Blu-ray; this time it's INKHEART, a Brendan Fraser fantasy film that must not have made five cents at the box-office. Frankly, I had never heard of it, but the fantasy element of it intrigued me, so I asked to get to review it.

Fantasy and Brendan Fraser.  My kind of movie!

Mine too.  It is on our NetFlix queue.

Matt H please let me know if I should move it to the top of the queue.

My DH and I use this a lot. And we laugh.

I remember the shirt I was wearing in that picture.

Here is a second picture. I look like I'm twelve years old (I was 18 at the time) standing in the entry of our hotel room in Virginia.

Child porn!

Which makes DR Ben look even more like an Andy Warhol superstar.

TOD:

When vacationing at the Jersey shore one summer with my parents, I asked what was the banging going on in their room the night before.

"We had to move the big suitcase" was my dad's reply.

It didn't occur to me until I was about eighteen what that meant.

One of these days I'm going to record the noise these creeps are making - and I'll put it on the Internet for you to hear and you will not believe it, just as I cannot believe it every morning at seven.  And then I will play back the recording at ear-splitting levels as soon as these people move in to their new home after having spent all this time elsewhere in a quiet neighborhood.

A potential Kritzerland release?  I could find a lot of use for something like that, actually.

Thank goodness the Supreme Court showed more sense than the public school did.  http://www.reuters.com/article/domesticNews/idUSTRE55O48120090625

I remember giving the boys Tylenol to take to school & telling them to keep it hidden.  I thought it was ridiculous if they got a headache during class they had to go to the office to ask for something, and then the office had to reach me to get permission.

I may have had Bryan sneak a dose of antibiotics to school too.

I've already got a mailing from Hallmark announcing that the new holiday keepsake ornaments go on sale next month.
