Well, you've read the notes, you know all about applesauce, and now it's time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently eating their applesauce.

Re APPLESAUCE - An endless source of frolic and amusement is my story of a friend was working at North Shore Muisc Theater when Dorothy Collins was appearing in APPLAUSE.  And he swore that people would call asking for tickets to Dorothy Collins in APPLESAUCE.

I also remember reading that after a particularly well received concert, the performers were given generous applesauce.

I watched a bit of NORTH BY NORTHWEST on TCM last night.

My TOD: What is everyone's favorite movie reveal or revelation?

I have a couple including:

Cary Grant finding out the identity of the ONI agent and that his actions have issued a death warrant for said agent in NBN.

The moment when we Raymond's control is revealed in THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE.  "Why don't you pass the time by playing a little solitaire?"

Good morning, all!  Last night I had a fabulous dinner at Chez Josephine which is also an homage to Miss Josephine Baker, with plumes and portraits about the restaurant. The meal was quite wonderful and it was great to see my friend Richard and his wife after too long a period of time.

I have a day to myself at the apartment and I'm going to work on Moross scores. tonight, I'm seeing KNICKERBOCKER HOLIDAY at Musicals in Mufti. The show is so politically relevant that I don't know why productions aren't popping up everywhere. Originally Maxwell Anderson's anger over FDR's "New Deal," I always saw it as a parable on fascism, but I suppose a lot of conservatives today might see it as a jab at Obama's policies. I look on it as a great score with a lot of digs at corruption and stupidity in all levels of government, from the town counsel to the top.

I may do a bit of work on Mr Victor Herbert as well.

Darling bk - But after the first two weeks, the noise has not been going on all day.  At least not according to your reports.  At least not here on Mars.

DR elmore - Just remember, today is Street-Palooza with NYC Pride and a couple of other festivals today.  Hopefully, by the time you head down and east, or east and down, traffic should be almost back to normal.

DR JOSE is the music worth $12 + shipping?  Maybe someone who buys it can do something for needy friends.

I'd say it's worth the $12+shipping. And, thankfully, the CD won't come with a rain delay.  I hope.

I believe the band, HEM, has a website - or at least a MySpace page.  So, you may want to check out some music samples to help your contemplation.

As for me, I was up very early this morning. I climbed on my roof and cleaned off the two flattest places where leaves and pine straw tends to collect. It was already 70 degrees outside when I was doing this, and thankfully, I didn't have to be up there very long. I HATE this chore, but thankfully it only has to be done once or twice a year. Hopefully, I'll be good to go until November.

Next weekend (likely Sunday), the gutters.

Today's work project will be the Criterion DVD release of FOR ALL MANKIND about the Apollo moon missions. It have it on both DVD and Blu-ray, and, as usual, I'll do the DVD first and wait a few days before rewatching the film this time on Blu-ray.

On a cheerier note, after struggling with the software at the new work site yesterday and being somewhat disillusioned and apprehensive about the switchover, I went there this morning, and the review that didn't seem to post yesterday actually DID post after all. I guess something was up with the software yesterday not to give me an instant post, but anyway, it was there today, and I even went back into the review and tweaked a few things to see if it would let me do that with ease. It did.

Needless to say that is a tremendous relief to me to be able to maneuver with the new software tools on the site.

Looks like George Cukor Day at TCM. There are a lot of his movies programmed throughout the morning, afternoon, and evening hours.

Could thbat have anything to do with Gay Pride Day? Cukor hardly made his orientation known during his career. (I know it was well known in Hollywood, but it wasn't to the general public.)
