Larry, there's good news and bad not-great news...the good news is that I was able to record yesterday's Guiding Light episode early this morning, make a DVD and it's ready to send to you today.  The bad not-great news is that I didn't think about it and recorded the hi-def channel.  All this means is that because it's burned onto a regular DVD, the picture has a black frame around the whole image.  It's otherwise all there, just a slightly smaller image.  Here's a screen-shot of what it (proportionately) looks like:

But I got it. :)

So Larry, do you want me to send it to you, or directly to DakotaCelt?  It's the same to me, either way.

I have a new roof across the back of my house! The roofers were done right around 2:10, so I am thrilled beyond belief to have one part of my home renovation completed. I'll have to wait until next month to do anything else. Not a dime to my name for the rest of this month, I'm afraid. (Well, thankfully, some stock dividends pay out this month, and that's my spending money).

They did a wonderful job, and were really hard workers. They didn't even stop for lunch. Worked right through from 9:20 until 2.

I watched a bunch of NCIS episodes during the morning and early afternoon. One of my favorites was one involving a pair of eyeballs sent to a Marine, Anthony Heald was the primary guest star in this episode.

I did watch SUnday evening's episode of MAD MEN while I ate lunch today. My goodness, how different it was for women in labor back then! And the new British company has really thrown a wrench into Sterling-Cooper for sure.

I had just enough time left in the afternoon to watch X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. It was OK. I was not an X-MEN comics kid growing up, so I only know what the movies have told me about these characters. I have no idea if these origin stories are true to the comics or not.

At any rate, what a truckload full of hunks in this latest edition! And Ryan Reynolds was so gorgeous one just wanted to weep.

Thankfully, I have all evening to explore the bonus features since I had no time this afternoon to do anything but watch the movie itself. There are two commentaries and quite a few more bonuses to explore.

Guys, um, I need your help. You are the people I trust the most, so I feel it best to ask you all for some advice.
In my group mof friends, there are two girls that are bi. One recently came out, and the other one figured out last year. Now, here's the issue. The girl who de-closeted last year has possibly fallen for the second girl. So hard she has trouble looking at her at times when the second is dressed really pretty at school. So shes not sure if she should ask the other out or not. Normally she says she'd jump at the chance to be with "the girl of her dreams practically", however some issues have arisen,
1) Her father doesn't know she's bi-sexual. This might be the second biggest issue out of all of them...
2) The major one: They're BEST. FRIENDS. She's frightened to death of frightening away the only person that isn't her mom (who she has a really close relationship with) who she can tell anything to, and who will be there for her whenever she needs her. She asked two other friends before coming to me, and both being the teens they are said, "OMG how cute, go for it!!!"...or somthing along those lines...and she came to me, and I told her that while I had no idea what to do, I knew some people who mightr. I told her I wouldn't use names, so she was cool with it. So now I ask you, what should she do? Should she go for it, should she just wait and hope it passes soon, or is there another option? Also, take note that for some reason, her best friend, the one she has a crush on, has a secret she won't share with her, but everyone else in her group seems to know. So, my dear friends, please help my other dear friend with her romance issue please.

                                                                Love to you all, Vixter.

Thanks!

I'm going to especially love it tomorrow when the rains arrive. Hopefully, no more leaks on the back porch.

Now, I'm going to jump off-line and write up the movie portion of the review for WOLVERINE before I head back down to watch the bonus features.

Good Afternoon!

And it indeed was and still is a gorgeous day here in NYC. Perfect for cupcakes on The Highline. :) (See Facebook and Twitter for the on-the-spot pics.)

DR the vixter - First of all: Whoa! That's certainly a lot for all of you to be dealing with at the moment.

Secondly, as for any advice, well... This really does sound like a situation that should be "handled" by someone who knows both of your friends. Is there a school counselor you could ask? Is there a local GLBT Youth Center you could call? Otherwise...

???

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Happy Ides of September.

I celebrated by getting a flu shot and a haircut!      :)

While you have a cold?  I won't even go with my allergies bothering me.

While you have a cold?

I know, I know...   But the cold seems to have left almost completely - as quickly as it came on in the first place.  And I didn't want to wait too long in case supplies run out.

DR the vixter, re: your question -

I wouldn't presume to offer specific advice.  However, I would urge extreme caution and consideration for all parties.  Not all parents are so understanding.  And there is a reason that the suicide rate among gay, lesbian, and bi youth is much, much higher than it is among the population of youth in general.

That was torture to watch & took about 10 minutes with all the stops I experienced.  I would like to have seen more of them rewarded :)
