It's a little creepy hearing a brother and sister singing about Vegas love.

Just think about the accompanying video!!!!

I have a plaster monkey at my house.  ;D

It's not well known, but Michelangelo created several plaster monkeys for the Sistine Chapel.  But upon viewing them, Pope Jullius II was quoted as saying, "Take those damn things down!"

Good Afternoon, once again!

...And Sammy is now here, and he's started painting the kitchen!

*Of course, I cleared the rest of the stuff off the counters and on top of the fridge so that he would be able to do his work.  -Pushing all of it a few inches away from the wall was simply not going to work.  -Just sayin'.

The oafs are back and noisier than ever.  I just don't get it - they were DONE.  And now they are not.  I mean, there is furniture in the house, paintings on the wall, and yet they are using an electric saw and hammering and it's just nuts.

If you've ever watched "Flipping Out" or any of those getting-a-home-ready-to-sell shows on TLC or HGTV, you would know that the work will continue right until the moment that the open house starts.  -Is there a sign stating that an open house will be taking place?

To my great disappointment I accidentally recorded CASTLE on the east coast which does not record here.

What?  Is your TiVO/DVR bi-coastal?

LOL...the football coach at Texas Tech has suspended one player and banned Twitter from all football-related facilities:

"It's for 'a bunch of narcissists that want to sit and type stuff about themselves all the time. We'll put mirrors in some of their lockers if that's necessary, ...but they don't have to Twitter.'"

They finished their discussion of doughnuts and are now talking about traffic.

For a second there, DR Laura, I thought you were talking about the talking oafs outside of bk's window.

I am wondering if "blowing sweet" is a bk-ism, or if that is generally accepted jazz terminology.        ???

I was sort of wondering the same thing, especially with some of the recent Daily Discussions: "ME TIME", "FILLED FUN", "THE MACK", "GETTING CROWNED"... -And then there's the whole "Mad Men" and Bryan Batt thingy going on too.  ;)

I haven't seen the Magically Delicious show yet. Hopefully sometime all the stars will align and Sandra and Kerry and I can drive over to LA and see it.

I'm trying to decide if I can/should leave for a bit while they're finishing up the painting.  I really just want to get out for a bit and stretch my legs - especially after being cooped up in my apartment the past two days.  -And it's Fall outside today too! :)

They're starting to.  But only once they've already made it to the sidewalk.

Greetings from Toyland! I am all caught up with the posts and finished with all my errands. I had a nice visit with Rob Berman at the St James Theatre. We deduced that I have orchestrated a grand total of 96 measures of this revival.

I caught a look at the set for Rainbow Valley, Missitucky. It looks wonderful, kind of like a pop-up book.

There are clips on the FR site from last week's press presentation:

Topic of the Day:  I just saw Dave Brubeck (actually, the Dave Brubeck Quartet) live at Dimitriou's Jazz Alley, and he was (and they were) fabulous! ;D

There is nothing wrong with that. :)

Well... It appears that they're almost done painting!  All the large areas have been coated - twice! - and now they're just going back to check some spots, as well as the trim.

Of course, after seeing how the living/dining/kitchen area now looks, I'm tempted to have my room painted, but moving all of my boxes, shelves, books, desk, and keyboard would truly be more trouble than it's worth. Ah, well.

A nap sounds good.  However the meeting looms as well as these student surveys that are taking forever to tally.

I'm expecting my Blu-ray "The Wizard of Oz" box today from UPS...so I checked the tracking information and THIS is what greeted me:

OAKLAND, CA, US  09/29/2009 8:10 A.M. THE ADDRESS LABEL IS MISSING
OR ILLEGIBLE / THE ADDRESS HAS BEEN CORRECTED. THE DELIVERY HAS
BEEN RESCHEDULED

What that means is that my lot in life has DECIDEDLY not changed.  Anything I look forward to with great excitement ALWAYS gets hosed by UPS.

And I only got my shipping notice an hour ago! That means I won't see it until Friday.

I've had a very full afternoon of viewing. I began with the last of THE CASE-BOOK OF SHERLOCK HOLMES episodes - "The Creeping Man." And creepy it was. Made me jump once or twice even if the science was science fictional.
