Then I watched about 50 minutes of AND THEN THERE WERE NONE. I always enjoy revisiting this sensational mystery, one of the greats by Agatha Christie.

I left LAW & ORDER on the DVR so I'd have something to watch while I eat lunch tomorrow.

I'll likely watch HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE on Blu-ray at some point tomorrow. I think I'm going to take another day off. Then, I'll work on Disney's EXTRACT on Monday.

I was very disappointed craig didn't do the walk from graduate school, i wanted to go to pittsburg again.

I did do the graduate school walk, but I didn't get quite the same thrill from it that I did from undergraduate school. I guess because I took a great many of my masters degree courses off campus AND I never lived on campus at all, so the school didn't have the same meaning for me that undergraduate school did.

craig felt it would never match his under graduate walk.  keith didn't walk for either & i dropped out of school.

DR George - I am amazed that:

1]  Your picture of your television came out so clearly, and
[2] That you so quickly identified the source!

Congratulations!        :D

1] Who knew?? ;D Evidently, you can take pictures of Hi-def TVs much betterly than CRT TVs, and
[2] Closer Than Ever is one of my absolute favorite musical reviews...WSMA, you know. ;)

musical revue
(review is when you critique something)
Although Putting It Together was subtitled A Musical Review (On purpose)

Thanks, Dr. DAW for posting the wings photo.
As to the question about pets: I have a 15-year-old cockatoo named J.B. who sits on my shoulder most of the time when I write.
Just finishing up "Kansas City," a mad crazy Robert Altman film that I don't think I'd seen since it was initially in the theater. Great jazz music, scary performances and that Altman magic.

No Bernstein for me, and I believe I am a lot closer to BK than Indianapolis.  :(

Well, I am back from seeing Kevin Spirtas' play LOADED, and, yes, he was naked, and alas, I sat in the front row. At one point when he threw his shoes across the stage, one of them almost ended up in my lap, but it did stay on stage, thank you, Jesus.

The play reminded me a lot of FRANKIE AND JOHNNY IN THE CLAIR DE LUNE (not the movie but the play) and that awful Lanford Wilson play BURN THIS, in which two characters get together, and I believe their relationship exists only in the mind of the playwright because I see no reason why two essential strangers would torture each other with their fucked up lives and that one of them at some point would get sick of the other psycho in the room and get the hell out. It reminded me a bit of Robert Patrick's very funny play T-SHIRTS about the generational gap in gay relationships, and I kept wishing it were T-SHIRTS.

That said, I thought both gentlemen, a young student in his early 20s and a man whose 47 yet claims to be 39 in online sex sites, were well protrayed and excellently acted. Both roles guaranteed the stars each a nude moment, a big emotional scene, and a crying jag, and both Mr Spirtas and Scott Kerns, who's pushing 29 and looks 19, were excellent.

I saw Kevin briefly after the show and met the very talented Mr Scott Kerns who deserves a huge career. You can check him out at scottkerns.com, DR TCB.

I don't know where the day has gone to.

Lunch at STAR OF INDIA was delicious...and they indeed did have Chicken Saag today! So I had two helpings. Both Billa and Bains both informed me that next Saturday they were having "free" dinner buffett. Well, you know me and free food...I will be there!

I believe that was rear nudity only, DR MBarnum. This play "in your face" nudity. You would have loved it.

Back from a charming and wonderfully wonderful meal with Mr. Nick Redman and Julie Kirgo.  Genghis Cohen was as marvelous as ever.  They gave me the big Johnny Mercer book for my birthday - very cool and I'm glad I hadn't bought it yet.  Conversation was grand.

Jrand, glad you love the CD.  And for many reasons, it's the release of the year for me, too, and not just because it's Kritzerland.   I was frankly baffled why more people here didn't go for this - can't just be because it's film music, as if that was a dirty word.  It's glorious music - gorgeous, tuneful, touching music by a composer that does have Broadway connections.  Well, those who did get it can revel in its beauty.

Just got the Mercer book, too, but it's under the tree for now. Can't wait to crack into it, especially the section on "The Good Companions," still a favorite score. Priestley's novel is also a favorite and the source of my cockatoo's name. Dr. Elmore: J.B. doesn't talk. He does an unfortunate impersonation of my snoring though.

In honor of our topic of the day, we had orange chicken (extra crispy and still the best anywhere) and Kung Pao chicken (also brilliant).  We also had some crackerjack shrimp and some green beans.  No sole tonight.

It seems I missed a lot in the past few days

Happy Belated Birthday to Dear Ginny and darling Mike Barnum

Congratulatins to Ginny's DS on his graduation - thank you for sharing those pictures

A year ago you were just about to "graduate" yourself- and begin your retirement - has the year gone as you thought it would?  It seems as if you were busy every day.
