The grocery store was crowded today, but it was not the madhouse I was fearing it might be. I got a turkey breast, so I'll be cooking that tomorrow for my meals over the next three to four days.

So sorry to read about doggie Bosco, DR MBarnum, but you just remember what a grand and glorious quality of life he's had all these years and don't fret about what's inevitable. You're doing all for him that's humanly possible.

Back from the jog to the mail place, which I calculate at around two miles, maybe a teeny bit more.  I had a few packages and am now almost all caught up with package delivery.  One of the packages includes my brand spanking new Kiss My ASS t-shirt.

I watched two episodes of THE MENTALIST after I got back from lunch with best friend John and his two kids.

The first episode concerned the murder of a movie producer. Among the suspects were his actress wife and his daughter and her bad boy boy friend. A pretty easy case to solve actually. Not one of Patrick's most sterling moments.

Well, I learned the CD of "E Y Harburg Revisited" was titled "Hold Onto Your Hats," which may be why I never bothered picking it up. If any DR has the CD, please let me know.

Much better was the second case concerning a couple under witness protection. The husband had ratted on the mob and was later found dead. Two federal marshals also figure prominently in the investigation.

Then I watched BEETLEJUICE on Blu-ray. Beautiful, deeply colorful transfer, perfect for the cartoonish story and characters. I really enjoyed seeing it again. I wish Sylvia Sidney had been in much more of the movie.

I watched the first five or ten minutes of GIVE A GIRL A BREAK, the next Warner Archive purchase I had waiting for me in the stack. Just this little bit in, I can already tell that it's a better transfer than I LOVE MELVIN, but it's still not super sharp. The color looks OK so far.

I didn't realize that there was supposed to be a picture!  It didn't show up on my computer.  When I quoted DAW's post, I saw that there was code for a picture (click HERE for the full sized picture), but it was different than what I'd ever seen before.  So, I experimented with the code in DAW's post and found that we can manually resize large photos!  Look...this is a normal ratio:
