Well, you've read the notes, you've forgotten you read the notes, and now it is time for you to post until the forgotten cows come home.

Here is the link to Three Friends on YouTube (remember, it's only the final third of the song):

Here is the lyric - I'll put on asterisk (*) where the lyric begins in the clip above, so you can follow along:

LAUREN:

My mother drinks
Sometimes she hits
So I lay low
Until she quits
I hide
I disappear
Inside
I hardly hear
The screaming and the yelling and the madness
And the pain
Her pain
My pain

But through it all
I've got two friends
I've got two people who will listen
Two people who will care
Two people who, no matter what,
Will always be there
To lighten all my sorrow
To take away my fears
We're a team that can't be beaten
We're the Three Musketeers
Three friends

BRYNN:

My whole life
My sister's always been the best
Daddy's fav'rite girl - mommy's special pet
She's the golden child - nothing she can't get
And it's very dark in her shadow
And it feels like somehow you're cursed
And it hurts to know, in your parents' eyes
That you're never gonna be first

But through it all
I've got two friends
I've got two people who accept me
Who help me see what's right
Who'll always be there by my side
To fight the good fight
Who keep me safe from nightmares
Who help me feel at ease
And each victory seems sweeter
When they're all won by these
Three friends.

MARY ANN:

My father split
When I was five
We were told he'd be back
But he never did arrive
I was the oldest
With a brother and a sister
As for mom, well, the truth is
If you blinked you would have missed her
She was working at three jobs so we'd survive
So, to my sister and my brother
I was father, I was mother
Cook and maid and any other
Things to be
And so somehow you get the knack of
Doing work there is no lack of
No surprise I just lost track of
I lost track of me

But who helped me find myself
*Put it all behind myself
When things were at their bleakest
And my self esteem was weakest
Who was there

(Lauren and Brynn join her under the chorus)

Through it all
I have two friends
I've got two people I can turn to
Who always understand
And if I feel unsteady
Then they're there with a hand
The ones who give me comfort
Who shelter me from harm
There's no problem we can't conquer
If we're joined arm in arm
Three friends

ALL THREE:

Through it all
We are three friends
Three friends who always can be trusted
To cherish and support
To be there as a backstop if
We should come up short
And if the road is bumpy
If somehow we should slip
Well, I know I won't be falling
'Cause we're joined at the hip
Three friends
Three friends
Three friends.

Well, today's going to be a long day.  I'm going to work for a few hours, then in the evening, I'm working concessions for "Durang/Durang," presented by South Puget Sound Community College Theater Department.

Tomorrow (Sunday) is all mine!  I need to put up some shelves for my DVDs, then I can move my CDs onto the shelves that are already up but filled with non-CD items.  Hopefully, I'll be able to get the boxed CDs out of the boxes that they've been in for the last three and a half years and get ALL of my CDs onto shelves.

That news story I posted yesterday about the dog and his late master, who I hope is in Hell, prompted some very cathartic dreams last night.  I've been up since 2:45.

TOD:

Writing one's memoirs certainly evokes memories of events forgotten.  The frustrating part is that, often you remember them after you've finished the manuscript and sent it into the publisher.

Thankfully, I've not come up with anything that really needed to be in the book, but probably the most interesting of the stories was the time I worked with psychic Peter Hurkos.

Good morning, all! I am awake, bathed, and moving about. From the neighbor above me there was another round of noisy sex somewhere between 1:30 and 4 am. Since he's ignored my communications about carpet or more solid bed, I think I'll be talking to the landlord about this problem next week.

So, I'm off to Toyland for a while. Tonight, I'm seeing the musical YANK! at the York Theatre. I saw an earlier version two years ago at the Gallery Players in Brooklyn. I guess there have been some rewrites; friends who loved the show in its original NYMF production and did not like the changes made for Brooklyn thought the York production was quite wonderful. We'll see.

That is a nice song, MR BK.  But why did you write so many flat notes for the lead singer?

TOD:

I have a razor sharp memory and never forget anything, so there is nothing to recall.  The things that DO come back now and then are DARK things I wish I didn't remember.

But as I say, I remember everything and always know exactly where I am and what I am doing.

Wow....this is the most they have ever changed FaceBook....everything looks different.

WHITE COLLAR will definitely be returning at some point this summer. This was the end of its first season (we get the finale on Tuesday night).

You are 3 days ahead of us. I have not watched the episode that aired here yet. But our finale must be next week. I could have sworn i read on tv guide or something that the season finale was this week. But i just checked and it is next week.

Thanks for the info. I am happy it is coming back this summer. Hope they will air it here.

Greetings from Toyland! Last night I started reading an autobiography/journal of Lyn Murray, who did the vocal arrangements for the Broadway production of FINIAN'S RAINBOW before moving to Hollywood. The book's really fascinating and full of gossip; I just learned that not only was Momma Rose Hovick a lesbian, which I already knew, but that at a party around 1949, Gypsy Rose Lee made a pass at Murray's girlfriend Nina. I've also heard rumors about June, so I gather the gene pool in that family was very sapphic.

Murray's funniest comment so far, after seeing THE BELLS OF ST MARY'S, is that after seeing a Leo McCarey film he wanted to go out and be mean to someone.

Saturday morning greetings!  It's a bee-yoo-tee-ful day here in SW Ohio, but I suspect it's not as warm outside as it looks.  We have lots to do today after being away most of the past week.  My main task is grocery shopping.

DR Ginny - I really must have been in my "mode" if I missed you and Richard in the room on Thursday. And, yes, my lower back tends to get a bit tight - especially since the piano bench refuses to adjust just another 1/4-inch higher. -What I do for love. ;)

Oh...

I dined last night at Stella's Kentucky Deli. It was one of their "Fancy Friday" dinner nights...

Tomato Bisque with Artichoke Hearts
Rosemary Rabbit Risotto
"Mary Porter" Pie

All quite Dee-Lish!

And I really wish I could go back for brunch today.
