I would be very pleased to have Drunk Duane become a character in a play.
If only he were fictional, right?

I have a friend visiting for a few days who once worked behind the scenes on quite a few Broadway shows and tours. One of the least memorable was "Maggie Flynn." Now, I could be a good host and not play the score to remind her of having heard it day in and day out. But something in me wants to play it in all its lameness. Is that cruel?

On my way home, I gave myself a little preview of spring by opening the sunroof in my car.  It was chilly, but the sun was warm and it was nice to feel the breeze in my hair.

Go ahead and play the score  (or at least some of it-- the Overture maybe?)!    Not lame and not cruel.  You have my permission.  If she complains, just tell her that I said it was OK!

Got proofer number two's notes - actually fewer than usual and definitely caught several bad spelling and punctuation things that I missed and proofer one missed - plus had a couple of interesting comments having to deal with show business terms that she felt might not be understood by the general public - I'll run those by muse Margaret.

I've been away from the computer conducting a test of our smoke detector broiling bacon-wrapped filets mignon.  Add baked potatoes and green beans and we had a fabulous dinner.  And now we know the smoke alarm works.

Several years ago, my late friend/client Dan O'Herlihy did a play reading with Nan Martin at a theater in Malibu.

For the life of me, I can't remember the title of the play, but it's a 2-person play about George Bernard Shaw and his exchange of letters with a famous actress of his day.

Somebody here must know the title and name of the actress.  My 69-year-old memory can't recall it.

In any event, I do remember that Dan was very pissed off at Ms. Martin.  This was supposed to be a reading, and she had memorized her role, which made Dan look bad because he was carrying his script.

Dear Liar?

The Vixter is on hour 23 of her 30 hour fast - she is ( for the 4th year now) joining with her Youth Group  to fast for 30 hours while collecting donations for the World Vision.  Then for four hours this afternoon tehy willstand outside of local grocery stores and collect monetary and non-perishable food donations for local food pantries

Ah. I see she is practicing for her colonoscopy in 34 years.

We are back from a looong day.  We bought a lovely new sectional for the living room, which will have custom fabrics and a bunch of really cool throw pillows, as well as two incredibly comfy leather recliners and a microfiber reclining couch, all for the family room.  I'm a little conflicted about getting leather furniture, being a vegetarian and all, but I am justifying it by refusing to eat either chair.  ;)

Then we went to my church gig where we had our pictures taken for the directory and also bought numerous extra shots of all four of us.  The photographer got the boys to hug for one pose, which is the only time I've ever seen them in that particular configuration.  ;)

Nope, we are carrying two mortgages, and boy are my arms tired.  ;)  We do have some renters interested if we don't sell by early summer.

Your room is available anytime after March 22 or so, which is when we're aiming to move in.

Matt H I’m very pleased you finally appreciated Sharon Gless’s character and hope you continue to do so.   I haven’t seen the episode yet, it must be extra special for you to react as you did.

When you see it, I'm sure you'll understand my reaction.

I'll have to wait until tomorrow.  A NetFlix arrived in the mail Keith wants to watch, "Legend of the Seeker: Season 1"

Nan Grey....yes, DR MBARNUM thanks for the correction.

I was thinking of Nan Martin who was in a staged reading of DEAR LIAR with Dan O'Herlihy - they played George Bernard Shaw and Mrs. Patrick Campbell....not in that order.
