Well, you've read the notes, the notes were cracked, and now it is time for you to post until the cracked cows come home.

Good morning, all! Last night I didn't finish copying the cello part out until around 6 pm, and then I had three reports on status of various recordings to look over and make comments and adjustments to the text, I finished a little before 8, watched two reruns of LAW & ORDER CRIMINAL INTENT, caught up on several months back issues of BBC Music and passed out around 10:30. I'm happy that all the HHW Oscar Bash Partay had a wonderful time. That's quite a lot of pages to catch up on!

Today, I've got an hour of photocopying at Staples before I head over to a rehearsal for cello and piano. After that, I have a trip to Toyland for a meeting about status and forthcoming events. I also need to stop by my taxaccountant and talk to him about a letter I received on Friday afternoon from the New York State Dept of Taxation that further confuses my existence.

TOD:
Lloyd Bridges: Airplane 1 & 2 (I always think of him as a tv actor)
Beau Bridges: Gaily Gaily, The Landlord, Lovin' Molly, The Fabulous Baker Boys
Jeff Bridges: The Last Picture Show, Winter Kills, The Fabulous Baker Boys, Bad Company

Re page 42 of yesterday's posts: It's my belief, and perhaps DR Ben will agree with me, that the HHW Oscar Bash Partay got along fine without me and only guests who don't RSVP should be bitchslapped.

I believe I heard that stated in the movie "A Very Long Partay" based on the book Endless by Hugh DeServitt.

Nothing except tax work would have kept me from the party, and I'd like to thank so many people  for helping me get through those tax returns.

And being in the company of elmore, Ben, Jane et al can never be a bad thing by any means :) , although who this "al" is i don;t know.

I thought the lyrically challenged opening number was not very funny....

My two favorite lines -

Damn Helen Mirren
&
Clothes whores.

Babysitting went very well yesterday. Although it was much longer than i had thought. I didn't get home till 6:30pm.

My sister and my niece left at 1:30pm. But she had put little Jadie (9 months old) to sleep. And she slept for an hour. Then when she woke up she was actually in a very good mood. So we played for an hour. Went for a walk for almost an hour. Played more. And then at 5pm my mom and i gave her her dinner.

Only thing is the baby cereal smelled so bad. I felt bad giving it to her. Yuck!

But then she had her baby food squash and baby food pears. And then i carried her around for 30 minutes. And at 6pm they came home. Success!

TOD:

Jeff Bridges:
THE FISHER KING
STARMAN
THE BIG LEBOWSKI
THE LAST PICTURE SHOW
THE FABULOUS BAKER BOYS

Beau Bridges:
THE LANDLORD
UNITED STATES (TV Series)

Lloyd Bridges:
AIRPLANE
THE RAINMAKER
SILENT NIGHT, LONELY NIGHT (TV movie with Shirley Jones)

Odd--I could have sworn Lloyd Bridges was in DETECTIVE STORY...

re: the oscars last night.

My favorite win and favorite speech were Sandra Bullock. She made me all teary. I was so happy for her!

I just read BK's notes and i agree about that woman producer who ran on stage and cut off the winner. Uggh.

I also miss them singing the Best Original Songs. They could have done that and not had the dancing of the scores.

One thing they've done before which i love is how they present the Best Actor and Actress awards. I love how they have one person there to talk about each nominee. It makes it more special to me.

But i hated how they did not even read off the list of Best Picture nominees and just raced to the announcement. I get that they wanted the show to end and it was midnight. But why do they always take their time with boring stuff and have to rush through when the interesting awards come up.

Question:

Do Jeff and Beau Bridges NOT get along?

I'm asking because, in none of the award shows this year where he won, did Jeff ever mention his brother.

Keith enjoyed it so much he added "Steve" to our NetFlix queue.

I don't think it will be your kind of movie. But like I said earlier in the week, I don't consider this movie a flop. Not in the way that really awful movies are. If you love Sandra Bullock, you might find the movie amusing.

I actually really liked it. Obviously it's not a great movie. It's a light hearted comedy (not a romantic comedy in the sense that many comedies are). I thought she was extremely funny. And i loved bradly cooper. And really enjoyed it.

Well, another Oscar broadcast has come and gone, Charlie Brown....

As awful an evening as it was, the broadcast did what it was suppose to do, namely peke my interest in a few films.  I want to check out THE HURT LOCKER and PRECIOUS.

With the exception of very few moments, I thought that the Oscar show was terrible, particularly the directing.

I thought that Baldwin & Martin did very well.  Loved their "Mother lode" line, and the spoof of PARANORMAL ACTIVITY was hilarious.

Also liked the bit that Tina Fey and Robert Downey did presenting the writing awards.

Aside from that, BORING.
