re: ALL ABOUT STEVE and Sandra Bullock

Quote
Keith enjoyed it so much he added "Steve" to our NetFlix queue.

I don't think it will be your kind of movie. But like I said earlier in the week, I don't consider this movie a flop. Not in the way that really awful movies are. If you love Sandra Bullock, you might find the movie amusing.

I actually really liked it. Obviously it's not a great movie. It's a light hearted comedy (not a romantic comedy in the sense that many comedies are). I thought she was extremely funny. And i loved bradly cooper. And really enjoyed it.

We both like Sandra Bullock, and Keith watched a preview.  We shall see.  NetFix makes it easy to order movies we might end up only watching part of before sending it back.  We almost always have at least one DVD to watch.

Yes, errant and truant, we know why you weren't here - we only question why you would want to miss the merriment and mirth and laughter and legs and being with your fellow hainsies/kimlets.  We shall, I'm sure, be left to wonder.

Honestly, if you aren't watching while reading it takes away from the fun.

For the first time in many, many, many years I missed the Oscars. Not because I dislike the Oscars )I always enjoy the show), but simply because I had some other things going on last night.

I also, for the first time (I think) I missed the HHW Oscar bash...not that anyone noticed   >:(

I did however, catch up with most of the Oscar bash posts.

An online travel magazine, Where2Now, has published the first of a two-part series I wrote on the trip to Botswana. It's at http://www.where2nowmag.com, if you're interested.

Thank you for sharing, very enjoyable & interesting.  The photos are great too :)

TOD:

Lloyd Bridges:

TRAPPED (1949)
APACHE WOMAN (1955)
AIRPLANE (1980)

I have no favorites of the brothers Bridges, although I did see Jeff on an episode of his dad's TV show SEA HUNT just this weekend.

You know, years ago they included many more people in the RIP tribute on the Oscars. I don't know why they can't do that, still.

I did laugh myself silly this morning on all the riffs on that ridiculous PRECIOUS title. Congrats, guys.
Monday Morning Birding was called off again due to rain. It's been at least a month since we've gone.

This must be some sort of record ;D

Today is International Women's Day.

Congratulations to all the women here on HHW.....a unique, entertaining, and SMART group of ladies.

Darn, I don't have that on my laptop.  I need to wish my daughter-in-law & her mother a Happy Romanian Women's Day.

TOD:  "Starman" and "Fearless" are my two favorite Bridges movies.  I haven't seen "The Last Picture Show" since I saw it in a theater on its first release.  I'm also a bit intrigued by "Hearts of the West", but ultimately find I want to think it's better than it really is.
Can't believe I forgot "Fearless." Thanks for the reminder. I must have seen that picture five or six times. Bridges and Rosie Perez are both at the top of their game in that one.

Well, it was a good thing she was able to fend off that 87 year old cane-wielding woman and push her out of the way so she could get up to the stage in time.

OKay--here's my idea for a Queen Latifah movie:

DEAR BELOVED, in which Queen Latifah plays a straight-arrow, ethical Nigerian lawyer who, acting as the executor of a multi-million dollar estate of a recently deceased client, must convince a disbelieving slacker-type guy that he is the sole beneficiary of a legitimate fortune.  Wanda Sykes co-stars as Latifiah's associate.  Not sure yet who to get as the Slacker Guy (Joseph Gordon-Levitt might work here.)  Considering adding the element of Morgan Freeman as the head of Latifah's law office, who sets his own sights on the fortune and works behind the scenes to advise the Slacker Guy on how to "out-scam the scammer".   Probably have to also involve a funny terrorist cell.
