Of course I am not eating ice cream these days....however.....

One of the first ice cream bars I ate was a Popsickle....not really ice cream.

THEN one day when the truck came down the street, the little girl in front of me asked for a DREAMSICKLE.....so I asked for one, too.

It is still my favorite ice cream bar - called many different things....it is sherbert surrounding vanilla ice cream.

I thought that was a CREAMSICLE?

Jane, no, I had no idea about the explosion until I just logged on to KGW.com.

I keep hearing it was heard at great distances.  Do you know of many people who heard it?

No one I know has mentioned it.  Even on (heaven forfend) Facebook.  :)

Thank you for the clarification. I thought they were all Dreamsicles.

Re: taking it out in trade, sometimes I wonder if I'm too much like my Dad.

I told a guy one time that he could take it out in trade.  He laughed and said he would die of old age before that debt could be paid.

So, is the Ricky Martin news a surprise to anyone?

I'll bet that for every one of those three bad stories, you probably have a dozen that turned out better than you could have ever imagined.

So, why is it news?

Because he's been rumored to be gay for years and constantly denied it? Suddenly he outs himself; it's either for publicity or something else is brewing. It was rather obvious he was gay when he lived in this building while he was doing LES MIZ many years ago. There were several rumors floating around about an epic musical's casting back in the 90s, so that was another clue.

The Reuters story says he's writing his memoir, so it is about publicity.

So, why is it news?

Apparently it isn't news in Tacoma.  I haven't heard a thing about it.  Although. last week our local newspaper hinted that Noel Coward might have been gay!

Thanks, it cheered me up.  I wish I were at a seder tonight, or I would wish it if I had the energy.

Edi, that is wonderful to have tried to assist these people. You are not a doormat, you are just a person who cares. You may not be paid back by them, but you will be paid back (depending on your belief system) in karma, perhaps, or the afterlife, or just in knowing you did a nice thing.

Don't stop doing nice things, but looks like you may need to consider the outcome if the person does not remember what you did for them, so you don't get in a jam yourself.

I agree. It sounds like you are very generous. It is too bad that these people have let you down. Hopefully they will eventually come through. But i agree with DR MBarnum. Just make sure your generosity is not going to hurt you.

Seder's over. I'm very full.

My aunt made an interesting dessert. It was sort of a passover version of strawberry shortcake. I liked it except for the cake part.

But it was still good. Since over half of it was not the cake part (which didn't really taste like cake).

My aunt also makes something which i love, called tsimis. It is carrots, dumplings, short ribs and chicken (and other things) mixed in a delicious sauce. I only get it once a year. But it is so good!

Not liking the cake part doesn't surprise me ;D

I have gefilte fish in the fridge. I think i will have some tomorrow. Although i have a bunch of leftovers.

My mom made potato latkes. And brisket. It was the moistest one she's ever made.  And matzah ball soup.
