Interesting changes (potentially) to this summer's SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE.

There will only be a top 10.  And they will not dance with each other but with a former all-star so you think you can dancer.

I saw a very interesting movie if you are at all interested in fashion. The documentary THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE.  It was so well done it did not really remind me of a documentary at all. It features Anna Wintour (Vogue). But it also stars someone who I had never seen on screen before, Grace Coddington (creative director of Vogue). I love her!  Very good movie. I really enjoyed it.

Me, too. As much as I like to help folks when one of these cinema questions comes up, if it's Jerry Lewis oriented, I can be of NO help. I stopped watching him when he and Dean went their separate ways. I did see HARDLY WORKING because I had to review it, but all of those hits he churned out in the late 1950s and 1960s, I never saw a single one of them and never wanted to.

As I ate lunch, I watched last night's CASTLE. It was an excellent conclusion of the two part show (for some reason, I thought the killer was going to end up with ties to Martha), but there were a couple of places where dramatic license taken made me roll my eyes.

Still, it's a fun, fun show, and the previews for next week make the show look equally entertaining.

Then I watched NURSE JACKIE, also from last night. Good second episode. Jackie's once again painting herself into these corners she's going to have to really squirm to get out of. Should be fun to see how she does it.

No sedar tonight for me. Just leftovers (although i have a lot). When my grandparents were alive we used to make a much bigger deal at the holidays.

Next I watched last night's DAMAGES. There are only three episodes left now in the season, the show's best. I have to say this season now has three sets of parents being really horrible and dishonest with their kids, all to amazing effect.

Next I watched another episode of THE CLOSER from the season four set. This was the one with the male "illusionist" who defied the officers from being able to trap him. Very clever the way Brenda and Fritz (mostly Fritz this time) arrived at a solution to the mystery. This was one of my favorite episodes from the season.

I skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. Nothing of interest and nothing in the previews for tomorrow's show either.

I also skimmed today's ONE LIFE TO LIVE. Kyle and Oliver were on, but their scenes were seconds long. Oliver had a very important scene late in the show without Kyle. At least now things are going to proceed full speed ahead with the baby plot before the boys ride off into the sunset.

And, obviously, the UPS truck did NOT make a delivery here today. Very disappointed, of course, but I'll work when something arrives.

Just saw last night's ratings. CASTLE once again achieved its highest ever rating last night and led all programs at 10 p.m. It was helped along by a very strong DANCING WITH THE  STARS lead-in, but it's obvious the show is growing in popularity since it didn't get these kinds of ratings last year even it followed this same show.

As a result, ABC has renewed CASTLE for next season, a full 22-episode season order! Hooray!

Matt,

Any chane that NBC will pick up "24" - or has that train left the station?

Back from the dry cleaners and picking up clothes, the mail place and picking up mail (and a package), and did some work on the blocking, but I need to do the rest while I'm with my assistant so I can verbalize the bigger scenes and have her write down stuff.

The package contained Blu and Rays of John Woo's The Killer and An Education.

Since Thursday's rehearsal is three to six, that's probably the first chance I'll have to watch An Education.

They had some discussions with Fox, but the license/production fee ($5 million per episode) put the show out of NBC's price range.

I didn't get a chance to sit on the porch while lunch was cooking. (I had to stand over the stove), but it's still pretty out, so I'm going down now and sit a bit outside before coming in and watching some things this evening.

I wonder why there are two police cars outside my house.

They went to the Goldstein house.

They left, so I guess it wasn't too exciting.

Went out for soul food today at a wonderful restaurant with the best fried chicken, stewed okra, cabbage and greens. Some blackberry cobbler with plenty of butter made me very happy. But on the way back home, I got to thinking of another burger place here in town called the Lord's Kitchen. It's kind of hidden by the railyard, but it has a 1.5-pound Get Down Burger and a 3-pounder that's for dainty eaters like myself (though I have never ordered it).

There's also a place in town called Chunky's that serves a 4-Horseman Burger with four types of peppers on it, including that Indian ghost pepper, which is so hot the Indian government is thinking of making a weapon out of it.

Having actually seen most of Jerry's output, I'll stick up for him.  Several of his solo films are hilarious and wonderfully done.

Jerry Lewis was wonderful in "King of Comedy," not a typical Jerry Lewis movie. Also liked DeNiro, Sandra Bernhard, Shelley Hack and Dianne Abbott as well as the soundtrack.

Jerry's film GEISHA BOY is very touching and is one of my all time favorite movies.

It has been so many years since I have seen any of the other Jerry Lewis solo movies, that I couldn't tell you if they were enjoyable (to me) or not.
