For the folks who had not heard of the term Maundy Thursday earlier this week, here's a bit of info from a pastoral friend:

"Maundy" Thursday -- from the Latin "mandatum" meaning "command," referring to the "new commandment" that Jesus gave His disciples on this night to love one another. He also struck a "new covenant" with His people through His body and blood given through the bread and wine of the Last Supper, instituting the sacrament of Holy Communion.

And I am up, as well.  CDs should be here around nine-fifteen.  No time to jog today.

And this is NOT an April Fool's joke.  Instead, it's a recently leaked memo from David Mamet to the writing staff of now-cancelled TV series, "The Unit".  Read It.

As for last night's "American Idol" - which I only FFWD's through because I kept reading reports about how much of a "annoyance" Ryan Seacrest was being last night...

It was interesting to see that they posted a "Strobe Light" warning before P. Diddy's performance.  Is that a new thing for TV shows to do?  Or have I just not watched a show using a strobe light recently?

And now I need to take a couple of minutes to fold some laundry, tidy up some things, and then head out into this GLORIOUS weather!

Thursday morning greetings!  Can someone please tell me why I decided to throw a major family dinner party the night before Richard and I have to leave for Easter weekend in Lima?  Yikes, there's a lot to do, including getting our bedroom ready for my sister and her husband to occupy it for the next 3 nights.  Fortunately, we don't have to leave until early/mid afternoon.

LOL-Because your family dinner was so enjoyable ;)

An April's Fool's joke is definitely being played on me, the upper part of my right arm hurts so much it is difficult to move.

This wasn't exactly an April Fool's "joke," but it really, really upset me, because I bothered a friend needlessly as a result of it.  In 1968 A&M Records released a specialty album of Christmas tunes done by their biggest acts which was only available through B.F. Goodrich.  One of the tunes was a great rendition of "Chestnuts" (yes, I know the real title) by Brasil '66.  Years later on an A&M discussion board, some idiot posted that he had found a limited edition Christmas album by Sergio & Company and he listed all the songs, including "Chestnuts," but also including one I had never heard of by Styne/Comden/Green.   Everyone was very excited by this news (yes, we're hopeless geeks), and I made the mistake of emailing Amanda Green to see if she knew of the song by her father.  Of course a day later this friggin' idiot posted that it was all a joke, he had been bored at work and decided to post as a "joke" (ha, ha, ha).  I had to apologize to Amanda for bothering her and I just let loose on the A&M Board.  I don't believe the idiot has posted much since then, LOL.

I was trying to catch up on the posts last night. A bit bleary-eyed, but did I read that DR GINNY sold her entire Vera Bradley collection and has started collecting HELLO KITTY??

I was pleased to read that JRAND really has discovered a way to lose weight just by adjusting his monitor settings. Good work, Jack! I heard that Bill Gates is fuming because Microsoft didn't think of it first.

I was watching TODAY yesterday as I took screencaps for reviews and was edified to learn that HELLO KITTY now makes wine!

I read on MSN that the Kauffman family made so much money selling all the household items they no longer wanted that they were able to pay off both mortgages and have now taken steps to buy out the bank that gave them just a bad time over the original La Manse. Talk about justice!

I was at an Indian restaurant yesterday having lunch, when I spotted MIKE BARNUM'S picture on a poster for a new Bollywood movie. I'm sure that's no surprise to anyone here.

I am a bit dismayed at the news of DR JOSE's severe aversion to almost all food and drink. I understand that he now wants to live only on green tea and brown rice. Oh, dear.

And, Jane, I think your decision to stop taking Sherlock on hikes is a wise one. Just put the saddle on him and go for rides together instead.
