Bruce - is this the place you remember?

 9170 Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles
The Cock 'n Bull Bar on Sunset Boulevard was a restaurant and bar that Jim Morrison used to frequent.  One night in the winter of 1970 after becoming “slightly tipsy,” Jim pretended to be a matador with his jacket in the middle of Sunset Boulevard, with the passing cars acting as the attacking bulls...

Well, it seems echoes of HHW haunt me wherever I go:

Mexican Beer Dinner

Now - all the beverages are suppposed to be carefully selected brews....

But then came the third course, and the beverage was:

Not only is is not imported, it comes from some place nobody ever heard of:

What's next - Champagne from Studio City :)

I've heard of Caldera.  Did you try it?  I don't drink beer & I don't know if Keith has had it, I'll have to ask him.

I'm sure everyone will be glad to know that in addition to THE CLOSER, I'm also doing the promos for everyones' favorite, SAVING GRACE. After we finished next week's promos, they decided to change the order in which the episodes air, so at 6 last night we learned that we have to cut spots today that will be onlined and  mixed tomorrow and on the air on Monday. Guess that will cut down on the approval process!

I hate that program!

I know you do! And you're not the only one...

Greetings from the lower level of the Nashotah House library!   We've been to graduation and to lunch on the lawn and now Richard is researching holy days of obligation.  For the first time since I retired, I'm using a non-Mac computer  :P

THE CLOSER, just judging from the dailies, looks like it will be a really good season.

Wondering what folks think of Mary McDonnell's character, Capt. Raydor?

TOD: I love the social networking (HHW, Facebook and formerly my little Randy Newman group) but hate it when people use it as a forum to abuse folks (1 person on Randy Newman drove a lot of people away).

I love the instant access to information.

I love being able to find music, films and books that aren't carried in most stores or out of print, and have them in a few days.

I like being able to have access to personal information about people, being able to see where they live, etc. but don't like to think of others having that information about ME! But I guess that's the price we pay...

Well, I don't hate it - but stopped watching after the second episode: too much sex and too little mystery.

Well, she sure adds interest to the enemble; every show needs a Sue Sylvester!

David and I have finished, I've showered and shortly I shall be on my way to lunch with dear reader Jeanne at Hugo's - after that, I'll come back over the hill, pick up whatever mail and packages are waiting (definitely one package, and hopefully some nice mail), and that will be it for the day.

bk - I know it's not Wednesday, but I was curious if your newest book would be available in Kindle form anytime soon.  I'm enjoying the book and would like to be able to read it on the Kindle (which can also be read on the iPhone anywhere).

Well, after her being "Madame President" for several years on "Galactica", she's in danger of being typecast.

I am very happy to be home after a long day, but I had an absolutley wonderful time with Rob. We discussed many fascinating topics from YANK! going to Broadway to Jerome Kern and the making of new musicals using scores form composers' catalogs - like WHITE CHRISTMAS (Berlin), NEVER GONNA DANCE (Kern), and the reading he did last wnter of ONLY WHEN I LAUGH (Gerswin). We also talked about opera, Frank Loesser, the Victor Herbert recordings in the fall, and friends at the NYPL and Library of Congress.

Now I'm ready for a nap.

Now...

Back to the Topic of the Day...

LIKES:
Easy and immediate access to all sorts of information.
Being able to communicate with people for personal, business and social purposes at any time of the day.

DISLIKES:
"Anonymous" criticizing and bullying.

LIKE/DISLIKE:
Realizing just how MANY PEOPLE are really out there! Sometimes that can lead to a wonderful sense of Community or to a skewered sense of isolation.
