Well, you've read the notes, the notes had some lint, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently giving up lint for Lent.

TOD: I always enjoyed Andy Williams' version of "Speak Softly Love" from "The Godfather" and the way Jack Jones sang "The Impossible Dream" and, of all things, "The Love Boat" theme, but my CD collection is sorely lacking either. Perhaps it's time for a reappraisal.

Hmmmmmmm.....not a GREAT fan of either of the gentlemen although I have no aversion to them.....I shall have to see what other DR's have to say.....

For me it was Al Martino and Matt Munro.....among others.

Never a fan of Jack Jones, but I did like his father, Alan.  I even interviewed him once for a book (Don't recall which one).  He was very nice.

Okay, here's something that should upset fans of Film Noir:

Yesterday, I watched 2 movies: THE CRIMSON KIMONO and MURDER BY CONTRACT.

The direction for both of them was absolutely terrible.  The scripts were boring and often didn't make sense.

So, why are these two films so revered?

DR JRand, I just read your news. I am so sorry for your family.  Reading this almost made me start crying. So sad. Vibes for the others in the accident and for them to have some comfort. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Good morning, all! My Memorial Day weekend is primarily a work period: I've got edits for 16 Victor Herbert songs, although I'm still waiting on drafts from one of my copyists, scores to finish for THE ROSE OF ALGIERS, and a complete look-over of BABES IN TOYLAND, now that I'm aware of what the copyists did to THE LADY OF THE SLIPPER. I may have dinnier with my friend Chris tonight, if his family changes their mnds about comoing into the City and I know I'll see Bruce Pomahac at some point in the next couple of days. I look forward to the visit.

For ths being Fleet week, I am surprised to have seen not one sailor on the Upper West Side; usually they're all over the City and everywhere you look at this time of the year. My father's favorite New York tourist spot, the aircraft carrier The Intrepid, is having some festivities and a showing of the movie TOP GUN (oy!) so perhaps they're all hanging around that part of town.

Okay, the first big question of the day: do i wash the winter bedding and put it away?

Just spoke with WFO - Joe's surgery was a success -

WFO has been given a knee brace which will allow him some movement in the broken knee.  He hopes to be released sometime this week -we don't know how long Joe will be in as of yet

Good morning. I was a little dizzy when I got up this morning...ok, a lot dizzy, so I'm taking it easy.  I got so involved in taking the wall paper off the entry way last night (inside the turret) that I forgot to eat dinner.  I just ate a little and am feeling better.  Think I'll go to the farmer's market and get some fresh food.  I haven't been eating well lately and want to try to get back on track.

I'm also going to go get some paint color strip thingies so I can pick out my colors for the bathroom and the entry.  I need to scrub the wall paper paste off the walls in there, but almost all the paper came right off the walls without water or chemicals, so it won't be a bad job at all.  The area is small and other than two doors, there isn't anything to have to paint around, so it will go very fast once the prep is done
