Well, I got us to page 2.  Think I'll head out to the market while it's still pretty cool out

Jack Jones has grown on me over the years and I must get some of his recordings.  I always liked WIVES & LOVERS.  Andy never really kicked me in the butt much...I'd opt for CANADIAN SUNSET (I think that's the title).

They make a low-calorie Gatorade now. Drink it whenever you are going to be working outside in the heat.

It is so terribly humid here today. From the trips to and from the laundromat I am ready for another bath. I may just do that when the things are dried, and I can stay inside. Perhaps it's time for the AC?

DR Elmore - humidity, rather than temperature, is usually what prompts us to start using our AC each spring.  Happened this past Monday...

DR Jane, THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNET'S NEST is in at my library. They have 6 copies, all on hold. But i won't know until later if one is mine!

From what I can tell there will be 31 copies, if they ever arrive.  I should call & ask.

Just spoke with WFO - Joe's surgery was a success -

WFO has been given a knee brace which will allow him some movement in the broken knee.  He hopes to be released sometime this week -we don't know how long Joe will be in as of yet

I have been watching for this happy news. :D

Good morning. I was a little dizzy when I got up this morning...ok, a lot dizzy, so I'm taking it easy.  I got so involved in taking the wall paper off the entry way last night (inside the turret) that I forgot to eat dinner.  I just ate a little and am feeling better.  Think I'll go to the farmer's market and get some fresh food.  I haven't been eating well lately and want to try to get back on track.

I'm also going to go get some paint color strip thingies so I can pick out my colors for the bathroom and the entry.  I need to scrub the wall paper paste off the walls in there, but almost all the paper came right off the walls without water or chemicals, so it won't be a bad job at all.  The area is small and other than two doors, there isn't anything to have to paint around, so it will go very fast once the prep is done

Cilla, it sounds like your electrolytes are out of balance.  Gatorade!

I just finished cooking a small batch of bagels.  Now I know what I did wrong I need to figure out what to do right.  At least I was able, with a little help from Keith, to do it.  I'm encouraged to try some challah as I'm almost out.  If I don't bread it & put it in a loaf pan I might be able to manage it.  Not now though, my shoulder still hurts from the bagels.

I am going out to lunch with my friend, Carole, at the Red Wind Casino.  Apparently she went earlier this week and won herself a bundle.  This evening is another of my nephew's football games.  I will wait and see how cold and wet it is before I decide to attend.

Heat and humidity on Memorial Day.  What is that?

The word of the day should have been:

omphaloskepsis

"The act of navel contemplation"

And the Drink Of the Day should be:

Navel Lint Recipe

Ingredients:

1 oz. Vodka
1 Splash Lime Juice
2 oz. Amaretto
9 oz. Coca Cola

Mixing Instruction:

Pour amaretto and vodka over ice in a large glass. Add the cola and a little bit of lime juice. Give it a sir and enjoy.

And the song of the day should be:

Belly Button Brush

A Belly Button Brush am I,
your naval lint I can't deny,
Come on now, don't be shy!
I have to ask the question - why,
Why's your lint a mile high?
It reaches up into the sky!
Does it poke you in the eye?
Does it make you want to cry?
Now I see the reason why,
You try on pants before you buy,
It's cause your lint is "triple ply!"
(and lint like that you just can't buy!!)
I need to clean and I will try
to keep your secret like a spy.
So come on, give me just one try -
a Belly Button Brush am I.

This ditty still needs a tune - perhaps one from Skip with a preeminent arrangement by Larry?

Well I think your library is for a bigger area. Mine is just for one suburb of montreal. There is another library 10 minutes away in every direction.

But alas I was not one of the first 6. I called to check. And i am number 5 (after the first 6 go out - they are on hold). So i guess it will probably be around 2 weeks till i get it.
