In the IF ANYONE BUT ME CARES Department: The court decided on Friday afternoon NOT to halt the State's Furlough Temporary Layoff Program.

Well then I guess my National Holiday is back on.   Let them eat cake!  Sorry about the furlough.  The state here had 10 days of furlough  since January.

Oh yes, the National Holiday is on.  I am not thrilled about taking a day without pay, but if it keeps the state from laying-off people full time, it is worth it to me.  And as you mentioned, a lot of states' employees have had it worse than what we are gettiing.

Tonight the country club, that's about 5 blocks from here, is putting on a fireworks display.  I'm going to go to a park around 3 blocks another direction that is on the top of a big hill.  I'm hoping to see the country club fireworks and maybe the fireworks from the Sioux City Explorers baseball game.  Last night you could see fireworks from all different directions, tonight should be even better

I used to have a wonderful view of Tacoma's Freedom Fair fireworks.  That is until they built those damn condos to block my view.
