When did you meet Philip Seymour Hoffman?   ;D

That youngster?  I'm old enough to be his father.

I had another hostile round of emails with a former DR this morning, one of DR Noel's nemeses on another chatboard.

Steve Newport was a DR?   ;D

Back from my volunteer admin meeting.  It's a brownbag lunch, but 11:30 is a little early for me for lunch, so I stopped at Taco Bell after the meeting.  There was no one at the counter to wait on customers and the first thing I heard was a male voice from the direction of the drive-thru say, "S**t, why don't all these people just go away?"

So, I did.  I enjoyed a nice lunch at Skyline Chili down the street and sent a complaint on the Taco Bell website as soon as I got home.

I'm so glad I don't work at Taco Bell; you'd have me fired ASAP.

LOL, DR Elmore!  I'm not denying that I didn't often think that about library patrons, but it's another thing all together to be yelling it for customers to hear.

DR cillaliz, how weird that all those bikers in your picture are wearing sandals. I would never wear sandals to bike.

Btw, when you said "it would hurt if they hit the pavement" did you mean if they fall?

Yes, or put your toe down and scrape it on the pavement

I've never fallen off my bike.  My bike related injuries seem to come from when i'm stopped and trying to turn around or things like that.

Maybe the riders find it cooler to bike in sandals (if it's a hot day).

Well for pity's sake...be CAREFUL using that hula hoop!

He was a DR before I joined in 2004. He's a friend on BK's Facebook page, if that's any help, but he's no friend of mine. I don't wish him well, only dead and buried. Cremation might be nice.

Thanks for the laugh and I'm pleased you graduated even if I haven't.  I will be reducing my visits to once a week beginning in August.  I am also skipping tomorrow to get ready for the company.

I am kicking myself for not visiting a friend that wasn't well.  Now it is too late as he is in hospice.  I was told not to call and only send a card.  This means the next time I see his wife will be at his funeral and the last time I went to a funeral I sat with her.  :(

I'm always raving about my dear sister-in-law Jo's cooking, but she is also an excellent quilt maker. Here are a couple:

DR Elmore - Jo's quilts are bee-yoo-tee-ful!  I'm thinking about signing up for a quilting class at the Senior Center up the street.  Also, after we left Jo's last night we came home through Trenton and saw a quilt shop right there on the main drag.

She does really wonderful work. I think she's an artist on her sewing machine. She said you were a really nice lady. I asked her to describe the person who brought the candy! :)

I'm very proud of her. She's a wonderful, down-to-earth lady who's everything Lady M is not: kind, a good mother, practical, modest. I've always believed my brothers married one of our parents; Randy married Jo, who's very much like my father: unconditional love, practical, warm, sincere, honest. Macbeth married our mother: conditional love, narcissistic, insincere, jealous, conniving.
