TOD:

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1968). Although I love the film, I am not sure it changed motion pictures for the  better...I have never been a fan of gore.

Here is the very creepy trailer, if you are not familiar with the movie: (I can tell you that this trailer, shown on tv back in the early 70s, scared the bejeebers out of me! I love the narration!!

I had something new (for me) for lunch yesterday: beef on weck. It originates in Buffalo, apparently. Soooo good, although not something I'd eat very often!

Mary Agnes sent a suggestive card for sure.

Well after reading MR BK's post, I guess I have NEVER seen the real PSYCHO....just the edited one.....since I have only seen it on television and video.

DR td - CBS was originally scheduled to show PSYCHO the week that Karen Kupcinet was murdered....and they chose not to show it because of the violence of her death.....and the surrounding events.....

I am very tired and my schedule just keeps getting busier.  I just found out I may have to do a deposition in Kansas City on Sept 3.  Not really wanting to do that, especially since it's juvenile court and they don't pay travel time, but it's my expert, so not much I can do.

Back from Dayton, where 2 nurses named Debbie examined my wrist and agreed that it shows no signs of infection or anything else of concern.  I think the problem arose from my sitting at my desk to use my laptop - the edge of the desk hits my wrist exactly where the bump is located.  It's much more comfortable to type on my lap, so that's what I'll do for a while.  We had a nice lunch at Panera, Richard dropped me off at home and has taken his car for an oil change. We're going out to dinner this evening with my mother.

Well, I just voted.  Tomorrow (Tuesday) will be the Washington state primaries.  I don't know if it's just Thurston County or statewide, but it's write-in votes only.  No more wire coat hangers in-person voting, ever!

George, I believe you mean Absentee Ballots, not write-ins.

Umm...oops...what you said. ::)

NASHVILLE was audacious, wasn't it?

NASHVILLE was brilliant, and it's one of my most favortie movies, but I'd think the earlier M*A*S*H was more influential with its overlapping dialogue and use of sound.

LOL...on Facebook I wrote that I would have enjoyed THE LOST SKELETON OF CADAVRA if it had been a bit less self-aware, and some genius said "BOOOOOOOOOO.....that was part of of its charm....."

LOL....that's why I loved THE BRAIN FROM PLANET X so much.....if its characters had been in on the joke, it would have been charmless......oh well......it may be time to unfriend someone.

Was watching a bit of MASH today on AMC, very audacious.  Sadly, AMC was showing it with language and other content edits.

My sister and her grilfriend, Leslie, went downtown to see Psycho at the Roxy (now Pantages) Theater.  After the movie was over, they called my mom and asked her to drive down and pick them up.  They were too scared to ride the bus.

I rode along with my mom, and I remember that I had never seen either girl as pale as they were that night.

Good morning, all! I slept very late, around 10am, debating for the 15 minutes before that if I wanted to stay in bed the rest of the day, the rest of my life, or get up. I'm not sure if this lethargy/apathy means I'm coming down with something, still in depression, or simply regenerating after the big round of work last week.

I guess it would depend on who else was in the bed.

We just heard two major explosions in the Seattle / Tacoma area.  We are being told that they were sonic booms from two F-15 that were scrambled after another airplane entered the no-fly zone that is in place over Seattle during Obama's visit.

When I was a kid, we used to get sonic booms around here all the time, because the Air Force Base near here.  But it has been years since I have heard one, let alone two.  Clean clothes are in order.

Here's a link to the German site with the screencaps showing the deleted shots - Universal apparently aired in Germany what they called a "pre-censor" version - but I don't think that's accurate - I think they showed the original that was shown in the US and THEN edited for reissue, probably for the ratings board.

Is this the missing link?
