It amuses me that we have a musical theater writer (several, actually) who has not chimed in on this topic, which is a very interesting topic and worthy of a lot more postings.

A mere 3 1/2 years after the fact, I've finally received the item I supposedly won from Alexander Auctions in 2006.  After telling me I had won, they informed me they had actually sold it to someone else.  That person listed it on eBay and I got it from him.  Bastard person.  ;)

Congrats!  But did you have to pay much more than your original "winning" bid?

Not much, IIRC.  Plus it's mounted now with a nice reproduction of a picture.

:)

We have a newly returned DR, DotM, back with us. Tell us about yourself. You're not a pseudonymous 3DDiffusion, are you? It seemed you might be on your last appearance.

Very nice!  By the way, what was it that you actually won??

I do believe I scared DR DotM off the site. I checked Dot's only post. What a creep. All It does is complain about three posts that have vanished.

I have no memory of anything called DotM - let's keep our eyes open and see whether it's something I need to deal with.

I'm watching a motion picture on Blu and Ray, but because of the heat (I haven't turned on the air today) and my tiredness, I dozed off for twenty minutes.  I'll get back to it soon.

TOD:
Last night I watched a motion picture on Blu-Ray, THE WOLFMAN.  It is indeed gorgeous to look at and has a very good musical score from Danny Elfman.  Otherwise, it's not all that memorable.  I had seen it in the theaters earlier this year, and I can honestly say that I barely remembered any of it. . .

The night before, I watched a little motion picture on dvd entitled MISS PETTIGREW LIVES FOR A DAY.  It had Lee Pace, Amy Adams and Frances McDormand in it.  It tried to hard to be funny and twee, but, didn't quite succeed.

The night before that, I watched a motion picture on dvd which was written by Neil Simon:  MURDER BY DEATH.  I laughed out loud quite a lot.  Superb cast and wonderful Neil Simon words.  Peter Falk was incredibly good looking in this film. . . .

Bookwise, I ripped through Dominick Dunne's A SEASON IN PURGATORY.  (I picked it up in a free paperback exchange).  I enjoyed every page.    And because "the Grenville case" is mentioned several times in SEASON, I picked up THE TWO MRS. GRENVILLES to read.  Also because newspaper man Gus Bailey plays a part in SEASON, I have also elected to read ANOTHER CITY, NOT MY OWN - which is a factional account of the O. J. Simpson trial as filtered through Mr. Dunne's eyes.
I had always enjoyed reading Mr. Dunne's columns in Vanity Fair, now I'm discovering his novels.

And given the number of log-in tries, I'd say that pretty much seals it.  But if it's her then she has to know that the first post I see that is in any way inflammatory would come down, and that there'd be an instant ban.  The question is, do we wait for the inevitable?

I really do hate doing the ban thing, but the overtness of this is really wacky to me and I know other dear readers are bothered by it.

"Dot" would have been a good name for MamaCat  Vixmom. She has several dots.

"Dot" would have been a good name for MamaCat  Vixmom. She has several dots.

It's a post.

Sherlock's litter name was dot because of the black dot on his chest.  Funny, the breeder had another litter with a put she named dot and he also had one blue eye.  I suggested she not call another pup dot-lol.  Like Sherlock she also wanted to keep the other dot & couldn't because of the blue eye.

Speaking of Sherlock the poor boy is really frustrated with having to go to the vet twice a week to get the bandages on his tail change.  Since the time it hurt to have it cleaned up he is no longer happy to go there.

He could use some healing vibes.

I don't know why I'm so tired - the heat, probably, and maybe the week catching up with me.  I guess I'll try to jog in about ten minutes.  That will at least perk me up.
