Well, you've read the notes, the notes were certainly random, and now it is time for you to post until the random cows come home.

I used to get acid reflux all the time because of a hiatal hernia. It seems that caffeine was the cause, so I quit that (my staff never forgave me for the reign of terror that ensued for a couple of weeks while it worked its way out of my system). I have been able to eat some chocolate since, which is great because dark chocolate is one of my favorite, favorite foods. But if I eat too much of that on occasion, I will still get reflux pains. Not fun.

I don't dwell on the distant past a lot, so I'm not going to have much to contribute to today's topic. I remember my fourth birthday. I wanted a can of black olives for my present and I ate the whole can before the guests arrived. I figured it was my present, why would I have to share. I was admonished for that, but I remember not thinking that I was in the wrong then. Or now.

Every once in a while I enjoy canned black olives, even though I know they're green and dyed and taste like the can.

TOD: When I was three years old, I remember my dad holding me up to the bedroom windows of our new house before we moved in to see the bedrooms so I could pick my new room. After we moved into our new house. I was always afraid that if we went out somewhere, someone would buy our house while we were gone. I don't remember selling the old house, but I guess having it sold affected me.

Good morning, all! I was quite tired so I went to bed as soon as THE CLOSER ended andslept around 10 hours. I haven't decided if I stayed in bed too long, but I am up and moving about. Today, I have a trip to NYPL at Lincoln Center, a few errands, and another audition.

My earliest memory is my maternal grandfather's death in January 1948, when I was seventeen months old. I have brief memories from before or after that of being rocked, and sung to, by my grandmother or perhaps one of my aunts, since my parents lived with my grandparents, my unmarried Aunt Dorothy, my mother's oldest sister, and my mother's two brothers who were still in high school. My memory of my grandfather's death is the visitation the night before the funeral since I doubt I was taken to the funeral the following day.

I can still see the coffin surrounded by flowers of vivid colors, and I remember leaving the McCoy-Leffler funeral home, which was then situated at the intersection of Broad street and First Avenue, with my parents, late on a winter night night and marveling at Broad Street, which was black and shiny from the ice on the street reflecting the street lamps. Most of my memories of that time are vague, my grandfather's funeral remains quite vivid.

TOD:

I don't know exactly how old I was, probably about 3.  But, I was born in 1941, and I remember having these nightmares about creepy-looking monsters, called "Germans".

I also remember my grandmother making me kiss a photo of FDR on the cover of LIFE when he died.

TOD:

The first thing that popped into me head is two dreams that I still can recall after all these years:

The first one was that the roses on the wallpaper in my parents room transformed into living images of Buzzy the Crow (from the Harvey cartoons.) All the Buzzys were flapping their wings and coming closer to me.  I remember waking up screaming and my mom picking me up and holding me.

In the second dream, I was playing underneath the end table that was situated at the bottom of a staircase.  I suddenly felt a trapdoor open up beneath me.  I was holding on to the edge of the opening calling for help and my father was bending down to pull me up, but my legs were also being grabbed by some combination of the Frankenstein monster and Brutus from Popeye.  I woke up screaming again.

I often wonder what my parents gave me to eat before putting me to bed when I was a toddler...

Tuesday morning greetings!  My agenda today includes a 28-minute walk in the basement and a trip to the grocery store.  Not ready to do that by myself yet, so Richard will accompany me to Kroger.

You're certainly luckier than me.

I have yet to see a finished copy.

How does it look?

My earliest memories begin when I was about 3 or 4 years old. One is of slipping down behind the bunkbead (I had the top bunk) and being stuck between the bed and the wall.

Another is of getting into the medicine cabinet and chewing on some Anacin. I can still taste it. Blech.

And another is of playing on the swingset in the back yard, or at least walking towards it through the gravel.
