Lordy, but I do love Chinese food! It's particularly tasty tonight.

I used to get acid reflux all the time because of a hiatal hernia. It seems that caffeine was the cause, so I quit that (my staff never forgave me for the reign of terror that ensued for a couple of weeks while it worked its way out of my system). I have been able to eat some chocolate since, which is great because dark chocolate is one of my favorite, favorite foods. But if I eat too much of that on occasion, I will still get reflux pains. Not fun.

Dark chocolate is easier to tolerate than mild chocolate.  You are lucky you could control it with diet instead of meds.
I went to see a doctor back when I was living in Middletown, Ohio, to deal with the problem. He asked me what helped. I said smoking. He said to keep on smoking.

Got a reprieve this afternoon: three more days of work. I don't leave until Friday. And it's all because we still have work to do and no one else wants to do it. I'm grateful, but I also find it silly.

So, Ray Court sold off his California show, but he still does a Chicago show?

Chicago is his only show now.

I know that Patty Duke, Shirley Knight and my former client, Edd "Kookie" Byrnes are going to be there, too.

BIG NEWS
(to me)

I am so excited.  Next Monday (Labor Day), MTV2 is scheduled to show a mini-marathon of their series HIGH SCHOOL STORIES.  And one of the episodes they have scheduled is my episode, "Warrior Pride."

Now I just need to figure out what time the show is going to be seen on the West Coast.  The MTV2 schedule says that All Times Are Eastern STANDARD Time.

Has anyone read either "Wind-Up Bird Chronicles" by Haruki Murakami or "Cloud Atlas" by David Mitchell?

This doesn't specify the episodes, but these are all the western Washington times:

I read, and thoroughly enjoyed CLOUD ATLAS, DR Jane.  It's an experimental novel, but, I found it rewarding.

Apparently 3:00 is 3:00 on both coasts.  I thought it was rather archaic to be running only an east coast schedule.
