Chris Colfer gets on my last raw nerve.....so his songs and scenes in GLEE are torture to me.

I remember watching THE TWILIGHT ZONE every week - from the first week - and talking about it at school on the following Monday with my friends......

That's what I thought DR CILLA LIZ.....I would think they would notice if that was the case.....they are trained to look for it....vibes for another diagnosis.

We are back from dinner at the senior center, where I am now a member and can use the exercise room.  We also attended the Bulls Run Arboretum annual meeting, where we learned about the auk, the Carolina parakeet, and the passenger pigeon - all now extinct.

Things have been going too swimmingly on the Herbert recording: I got an email from my coloratura soprano who's got a lot of music to record and she's got strep throat and laryngitis and doesn't thonk she can record in next week's sessions. Even worse, her availability dates in November and January don't align with our recording schedule.

So . . . I've emailed our producer Judy to see if we can get oen more day at the Academy on Jan. 8; if not, i've got to find a new coloratura ASAP.

Perhaps MBarnum is available.

I am thinking that since Little Ricky wasn't neutered, he may not have even seen a vet at the shelter. Little Ricky was only there a day, I think Cillaliz said.

I don't think the kittens I get are seen by the shelter vets before I get them. The techs do give them the deworming meds, though. But I don't think a vet examines them.

Thanks!  I refuse to put on rubber gloves and an apron and not touch and cuddle with Ricky as many websites suggest, I am washing my hands and changing my clothes every time I leave his room, which is pretty funny.  I did laundry two days ago and already have two loads I'm doing tonight.

So I'm really hoping for a different diagnosis.  He's really eating well and sleeping - I fell asleep on the bed in there earlier. The spot was really red today.  I'm hoping that he starts showing improvement tomorrow. That will likely mean that the antibiotic is working

Thank you everyone for the personal vibes,  it has been a trying day.
Miss Dixie's trip to the vet, including my personal SINUS issue (at least it wasn't digestive), was met with good and not-so-good news.
The positive side is that she is showing no signs of glaucoma.
The not-very-positive side it that both eyes require more expertise than our vet, the amazing Daniel Murphy, has to offer.
(When Miss Dixie was a pup, there was concern on the vet's part about her sight and hearing since she is almost entirely one color, and both or her eyes are blue; evidently in huskies that can be cause for concern, even later in life).
To be on the safe side, Dr. Murphy started Dixie on ten days worth of antibiotic and prednisone and faxed her information to a canine opthamologist.
We have a follow-up appointment with Dr. Murphy next Tuesday, if the meds aren't doing anything for her, we may need to set up an appointment with the ophthalmologist.
So, I say that DD Miss Dixie requires more vibes than her family does right now.

Incidentally, for me, this is one of those pain-free days.  I have them every now and then.

Health vibes to Miss Dixie Bell (and, of course, to td).

I didn't make the hootenany; I'm too old and too tired.

To continue my dismaying info, Ohio Light Opera is performing next summer my restoration of JUBILEE, which I fear will be dreadful, from what performances of theirs I've seen lately, but I should get a nice royalty check. I do hope they don't record it!

You're right.  He was dewormed and given some shots, but not rabies because you need to be a licensed vet to give it.  I also figure it was the weekend crew.  I did notice the spot when I was there, but didn't think ringworm.

I have one very strong TZ memory, and it strangely is not a well known or well remembered episode.  We were in Las Vegas with my parents and I remember they were going out to hear Steve and Eydie and left me and my sisters alone in the hotel.  My sisters insisted that we watch TZ, even though I was barely older than a toddler and was very scared.  It was one of the hour long episodes, it featured Mike Nelson (of Peyton Place fame) getting stuck in a mysterious town.  The scene that I will never forget is the big, furry "Tramp"-like dog getting killed by the car crash and then miraculously being alive again a second later.

Back from the ER. I waited 2 1/2 hours before they would see me. Then they didn't really do anything for the next 2 1/2 hours except give me a drip. They think it may be dehydration or a virus, but they're not sure. Meantime, I'm not able to focus for long stretches and I'm exhausted.

Hopefully things will be a little better in the morning.

The PR b**** has informed me she simply won't work with me.  The studio has already told me they'll work with me directly.  I think things will go better now.  ;)

We had frequent flyer miles with our local ER there for a while, what with the boys and my penchant for injuries.  :)

Good Evening!

Earlier tonight, I went to a concert by the New York Philharmonic.

It was very good. And the last piece on the program, "Kraft", by Magnus Lindberg was truly unique, visceral, mind-blowing, ear-opening and invigorating! I'm not sure I really understood all of it, but I left the hall amazed and energized.

Oh, and the first half of the concert was very good too: Debussy's "Prelude to The Afternoon of a Faun", and the Sibelius Violin Concerto with Joshua Bell as the soloist.
